This is a lovely romantic print of a man and woman talking over a stone wall, with a dog nearby. It is called Effie Deans and is by the British artist Sir John Everett Millais (1829-1896). The subject of the painting is from "The Heart of Midlothian" by Sir Walter Scott in the 7th Waverley novel. It is said that the model for the girl was Lillie Langtry.
It is in a wood frame of gray and red. It has glass, a white board backing, and a wire for hanging. The history of the image was on the back when purchased.
