Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Here's a "what's it". These were in my in-laws stuff.

They are fish (that much I know). 2 look silver with turquoise eyes and the other is a almost a cloisonne (spellcheck on that one). The bodies are movable. The biggest is about 3". Any ideas what these were? Religious symbols, you could put them on your fishing hat, might make a fancy decor for the bottom of an aquarium?

What the heck are these?

I love cloisonne!!! They are so cute!
I don't know, but they are *fabulous*!!!!!
I bought a largish cloisonne articulated fish pendant (2 or 3 inches long ) at my local thrift shop. It is vibrant blue and green--it was displayed as a necklace. I still haven't worn it but I just fell in love with the colors! It could also be used as an ornament I should think...
They are reticulated fish pendant - or at least the ones I have had or seen were pendants. Some can be vintage and others newer. I had one awesome one that was marked "silver" and was older. Do these have any markings anywere - sometimes it's hard to see on those. The cloisonne one is probably the best in value.
Thanks for all the info.

So they're pendants, I guess. The silver ones are stamped but hard to read (maybe SS). Someone told me they might be "carp". The Chinese consider carp is a "good luck" fish. Don't know if I'll ever sell them. They're kind-of unusual and funky.

Sue - how old do you think you're sterling one is? I was thinking mine are from the 70's but not sure. My in-laws did a bunch of deep sea fishing during that time frame. Maybe a little collection from their travels.
The sterling one was, I am estimating 60's but I sold it - I can't remember how much but I believe around $20 on eBay. It was really pretty blues and maybe that's the selling point for it. I don't know that they are in high demand in general. I just did a quick google search and found some that people said were Victorian. Now you have made me want to look into it more. I have a Victorian book (plus others) and know I have bypassed these. There is soooo much to learn and remember! I never get bored with Vintage. I just wish I could mind meld with a vintage genius and absorb all their knowledge!
Started a search on google too. They seem to be a bit hard to find. Here's one that's a bit different a "koi" - on Amazon $39.00 - http://www.amazon.com/Vintage-pendant-filigree-flexible-jointed/dp/...
