Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I think I will keep this or what are you nuts about?

Would love to see what things some of the folks on VV collect or at least find very hard to list and/or not want to sell.

I thought of this as I am getting a bit bananas about Vintage Chalkware. Specific theme though.

I have done this with many categories thru the years. One can pretty much go thru my inventory and see the things I have collected.

I love jewelry with snake and dragon motifs, especially sterling pieces, so I usually have some in my shop.  I can't keep them all, but this sterling snake bracelet I purchased for myself from another RL shop:

I have a matching brooch in my shop for the ring pictured and I bought the ring because it matched the brooch, but I decided to keep the ring because a) it fits my larger size finger! and b) I've never seen anything like it and it's a double dragon head sterling ring with 18k gold accent overlay and garnet cabs from a dealer in the U.K.

I buy pieces that catch my eye for my shop because I figure that if they don't sell, they are mine (or my duaghter's) anyway!  That's probably not a sound business philosophy but it works for me :o)

Fun idea for a thread, Sandy!  I hope a few others post some of their goodies here.  What is vintage chalkware?

Sorry so big. The fancy lady is French chalkware but I love the one all chipped up just as much if not more. Look, she is carrying her house and is called, "Family Cares."

Funny what moves us as your jewelry is nice but if I found it I would not have any problem passing them along.

I think it will be very long if at all I ever sell these pieces but ?

Oh, and thank you. Sandy

LOL  see now, the red coloring on the lady is gorgeous and the child figurine is darling but I'm not one to collect figurines.  Too much to dust ;o)  I prefer wearable art.

Soooo pretty! I collect porcelain demitasse cups & saucers - I'll try to snap a pic or two in a bit!

I did not see a way to edit and the photos were so big. Here is my chalkware lady again hopefully smaller.

I love mid-century ceramic pieces and have difficulty parting with them.  I'm attaching two pieces I may be keeping.
