The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Hi Everyone! :) So while on FaceBook I made a new friend who I later found out has this wonderful web site called IAntique.com Dan Briddle came up with this wonderful concept of using the internet to do live shows and workshops along with live chat rooms plus tons of video's to bring a Face to the AVC world.

I am so excited about his site that I wanted to personally introduce him to you all. This will be a wonderful resource for the AVC world and I hope to work with Dan in connecting both sellers and collectors.

Here is his "My Page" Welcome.... come say hello

iAntique.com is a social computing community that aims to bring the romance back to the antiques industry. We have the basic features you expect: classifieds, blogs, discussions, pictures, business listings and events, next we add live and recorded Internet-based workshops, 24x7 live audio/video chat rooms, plus we will be hosting live group events between locations. So, lets say a coin club meets in Kansas City and there's another coin club that meets in another part of the US (or world), they can now meet up online - during a live event.

Here, you'll be able to find real people to learn from, network with and even do business with.

iAntique.com is designed for antique stores, malls, buyers, collectors or just everyday enthusiasts from the collectibles world. During the startup period, we are offering free charter memberships (charter means you'll be FREE for life). Membership is growing and content continues to be listed. We're quickly becoming a 24 x 7 hive of activity.

For all of our Shop Owners... Dan will be talking to you all in Shop Keepers Corner about the business side of his site.
Just joined - may take a while to spend some time understanding it though!
lol just what I need...another network! but
I took a look and signed up as a charter member as it looks very interesting.
But yes, will take a bit of time to find my way around and get settled in there.

I am assuming this is not the same as the ning network of similar name?
no... it's not associated with IAO... :) Different url and not a ning site... :)

What appealed to me about the site is that the focus is on video's and the fact that they have live weekly shows and live workshops on subjects in our field.

I am not looking at it as a community (although it is) where folks congregate like they do here, but more like a resource.

For instance the video about pocket watches was awesome.

What I am hoping is that our members who have B&M shops and/or are in antiques malls will connect with Dan and maybe do a video of their own for the site. I am hoping that Dan will work with our members to help them spread the word about their shops.

Plus if any of you have a collection or are an expert in some area, I think Dan might approach you to also do a video. Or let him know... write him... :) Don't know the logistics of it but if you had a really awesome collection he might ask you to submit your own video.
don't know if the link will work for those who are not members there but here is the page to submit video's right now.

so dig out your video camera and take a video of your items and tell folks about them... :)

{{{and if it floats your boat... you might mention VV... cheesy grin...}}}
Very nice, and I did sign up & roamed around a bit. I see that people are gathering here to share, and learn, and to be informational....very nice. Seems like a nice community, and love being able to learn more, and see things too.
