If an item sells and then is sent back (wrong size)? To relist does it have to have a whole new inventory number to do this? Anyone know. Never had to do this before.
Thanks. Sandy

Permalink Reply by Gardenartus Antiques on April 3, 2012 at 9:07am Finalize the order and when you do it will have a didn't sale area with reason to check, and a relist at the bottom of the page. You won't need to relist it under a new number unless you would like it in today's arrivals.

Permalink Reply by Betsy's Bijoux on April 3, 2012 at 9:12am Also though, if you have already finalized it and marked it as sold, you will have to do a totally new listing. You cannot so to your finalized sold listings and relist from the listing. Hope that helped, Betsy

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on April 3, 2012 at 9:30am Yes, that is what I thought may be happening. I had already finalized it when I saw it was received. Then it was sent back so I will need to give it a new number. Thank you both.
Permalink Reply by 2Hearts Uptown @Ruby Lane on April 3, 2012 at 10:38am If you wait 7 days until after it has sold to finalize, you can be 98% sure you won't have a return (or you can accept a return at your own option). I try to copy my listing info to a special "SOLD" file, so that if I do need to relist, or more likely, if I sell the same item in the future, I can reuse my listing info and save some time.

Permalink Reply by Ruby Lane on April 3, 2012 at 1:10pm You can relist the sold item in your shop with the original ID number if the item has not been removed from your shop. You do not have to create a new listing.
Go to Edit this Page for the item (or modify item page).
Scroll down to How should we Display It?
*Put this in your 'shop'
Change *Show Price as Sold to *Show Price as 'regular' price or one of the other options.
Double check the quantity available is correct.
Click Modify
Item will be available for sale in your shop.
The only other section you may need to change is the 'What's Next' section. If you get an error message, read the instructions and make the correction to the What's Next? questions. Then modify again.

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on April 3, 2012 at 1:28pm Your 'What Next?' selection of remove item from shop is not valid when you are showing your price as regular price. Choose another selection (note all options may not be valid, but are shown here in case you change how you display your price on this page). or then...

this is what I am getting and it is not letting me do this at all. I think just easier to delete and start over but do want to know what is the problem.

Modify Item Results
It says in error message I am trying to remove the item and I am not as I am pushing the modify button.
Permalink Reply by Gardenartus Antiques on April 3, 2012 at 2:49pm I just tried it and it let me do regular price with unlimited views, unlimted days, keep item in my shop, etc. worked but now I cant' get it go back to being sold, lol. At least we know it works! Thanks Carol. :)
Edit went in the back door way and put it in my backroom then modified it there to Report sale, it now shows as being sold again.
Permalink Reply by Ruby Lane on April 3, 2012 at 7:05pm Sorry I didn't get back over here today. Will go over this some more tomorrow.
Graceful you have to set your What Next? section to keep in shop. Or, one of your settings is wrong. Bing - bing - bing. Try again. :)
And, yes, once you put it in your shop, you must report the sale to get it back to 'sold'.

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on April 4, 2012 at 10:23am This has been a stressful thing just trying to relist this one item. I have sent an email but finally just removed it and relisted it.
I know how to relist an item and have before but this would not let me. It kept saying I was trying to delete the item when I was trying to modify it and was on the modify page even.
I would put the 1 back in for how many instead of the 0, then I would change sold to regular price and then 500 days and it flat would not work. Kept giving me the red error.

I always, always get kicked off the chat box also. Possibly safari on my mac or when I am also hooked up to FB at same time this seems to happen. When I sign out of FB it will work better. Is it monday?
Permalink Reply by Ruby Lane on April 4, 2012 at 10:50am Hi Graceful,
You needed to change the selection 'remove item from shop' in order to relist the item in you shop for sale. The 'remove item from shop' is not a valid option when you want an item to be listed in your shop. This option should only be selected if you want to actually remove the item.
You need to select one of the other options available from the drop down window. It is the last box in the What's next section.
Show price as: Sale
Show price as Sale with Original Price crossed out
Show price as Sale reduced
Show price as Sale reduced with Original Price marked out
NOT:
Show price as Sold
Show price as "Remove item from shop"
The message:
Your 'What Next?' selection of remove item from shop is not valid when you are showing your price as regular price. Choose another selection (note all options may not be valid, but are shown here in case you change how you display your price on this page).
This is not a computer issue or a Ruby Lane issue.
Getting thrown off Live Chat is either your operating system or a connection issue. This we cannot fix.
Sandy there is no reason you cannot modify an item and relist it if you make the correct selections.
Sorry you are so frustrated.
