The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Hi Everyone!

Since we began in October of 2008, we have received so many wonderful messages that from time to time, we would like to share these messages with you.

We want folks to know that what we are doing is working and we want you to hear that from other people... not just us!

If you feel like we have helped you either with research or with your sales, we would be very grateful if you let others know about it in this thread. :)

We want you to be confident that our system works and by hearing what others are saying we hope to inspire you. If we are not doing a good job... tell us what we can do to improve.

Oh.... and we also have cake.... who's first... ;)

The big thing to remember... if you don't USE the tools we give you... we can't promote you and you won't be as successful.

You HAVE to participate to get seen... :)

Way too many folks don't use their full picture allotment and don't refresh often enough.

The members who DO... are the ones making the sales... :)
The Vintage Village was the first step for me in networking and promoting my Etsy shop. I started out participating in the Shop 'til you Drop forum and then became a full-fledged member a couple of months ago. I have received nothing but friendly support from day one. I'm still learning and wow, is there a lot of information to be found here. The great thing is that somebody is always willing to patiently answer my questions.
I have scheduled sales events for my Etsy shop here at VV and have definitely seen an increase in my sales. I've also purchased an ad button and have posted my 30 listing photos. It's hard to say what one thing I can attribute sales increases to so I'll just keep them all up. I still consider myself to be a "newbie" and have only scratched the surface with regard to the resources available to the members here at Vintage Village. I realize that I have lots to learn and I'm in the right place to learn it.
It's neat to see VV members out there on Etsy and Twitter and other social networking and selling venues. When I recognize a fellow VV member's name, I feel like I've just run in to a friend.
So glad to hear that. Thanks for taking time to post. :) And it is fun running into VV friends! :)
I agree with Kowgirl. I came to TVV shortly after I joined AVCOSA. I was green to internet networking. It baffled me. I was lost (don't laugh Lora, I know I still am sometimes). The Vintage Village made it all seem real and normal. Linking didn't seem so mysterious anymore. Someone on a board here explained it in simple terms and I was finally able to figure out how to link my Ruby Lane shop to something else.

Someone on some board here took the time to explain how to make my blog work better. How to get my "peek links" from Ruby Lane up to the blog and then to my page here on TVV.

I will always have my button ad here (unless I forget to pay).

My Google Analytics tell me that The Vintage Village brings me a high percent of NEW traffic to my Ruby Lane shop. It's new customers that I want day in and day out. They tell others and that brings more traffic.

I'm active on 5 networking sites. The Vintage Village gives me the most bang for my time and my buck.

Thank you
Carolyn

I love TVV, and I have even tried to refer others here--sellers AND buyers. I'm aware I don't make full use of the resources here, but I've been pinched for time this past year.

I'm going to be sure to get some photos (properly tagged, marked, etc) up as soon as I get a chance.

I really appreciate all of the hard work that Lora and Jane put in to making this a wonderful place to be!

I know you want to hear the negatives, too, but I don't have any to share. Sorry! ;)

lol ok so ya want negatives??

You have not yet found a way to make chocolate materialize every time we log in!!! So there!

;)

Without exception VV is my "home" place, within and without Ning :)

I do not nearly take full advantage of all the resources you offer, both the paid and basic, but I know how much I have benefited those that I have used, and how much I have also learned here, even tho I have been in this biz as an online seller since 2002, and a collector since a kid in the 50s. Always something interesting here! And your hard work in promoting is sure evident lol with Lora definitely due a medal for her regular FB posting :) I hope to use a whole lot more of what is available here, as I have seen firsthand how it brings in traffic and sales.

There are other networks out there, and I have joined some, but nowhere else do I feel as at home as here. There is just an atmosphere in the Village that is unique. :) And as that tone gets set from the top down, a BIG thanks to Lora and her helpers for such a special place.

now
about that chocolate................

;)

This has definitely become a home for me (although my appearances tend to come in time constraint spurts:)).
I'm a creature of habit and once I find something that I like...you'll never get rid of me!lol
The site is so full of interesting items...when I have time I just love to browse through and learn...sometimes about things that I may never deal with...but it's all about the learning. The quick response time from VV staff is truly a delight and the attention to detail is very impressive.
I love the friendly atmosphere, as well as the support and camaraderie in our Etsy group.
No negatives here:)
Great people, great info and great vintage....what more could a girl need?
.......okay the chocolate thing would be nice:)
From Glamour n Glitz:

"I love VV. I've gotten more info. from here in the groups than I have from the site I'm on. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. Keep up the good work, you deserve a pat on the back...."

Still looking for the chocolate. Where are ya hiding it?
Now a few words on my experiences here!
When I joined The Vintage Village, I had many ning sites under my belt :). But this is the first one that truely is helping us all by what they do for us. I have yet to see self promotion like I do on the other nings (just out for themselves) Here I see Lora and Jane really promote us and they appear to really enjoy what they are doing.
In all honesty, I am not sure where my sales come from though I believe I get some from here and in all truth I would never leave here whether I get sales or not. The people here besides Lora and Jane are awesome, they all look to help one another without selfish motives. I've said this countless times, this is the best ning site there is, and I am sticking to my story. :0
