Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Any information anyone can offer me is greatly appreciated :) These are 7" or so, in length. They're made of marble and metal--likely brass. They have threaded bottoms and the ball-finial on their tops.

Bumping this up for you.

I hope our experts can solve the mystery.

I posted this to Twitter and FaceBook... :)

Maybe the tops to a Bedpost???? :)

Possibly these are finials of some sort and could have been on a number of things such as a bed, andirons, plant holder....... etc....?????  Probably anyone's guess.  Good Luck!

I know this sounds a little crazy...but finials to fireplace pieces (pokers, etc.)??  The marble would stay cool once they heated up and that type of thing tends to be a little heavier...I'll see if I can do some searches and find anything:)

Thank you all so much :) At first I thought they were the dangle ends for drawer pulls, then once they arrived here, there was no question that I was wrong! LOL Bedposts was where I stopped at as well. I found these in one of my favorite shops and just HAD to grab them. I just wanted to use them as they were intended if at possible, to keep the aethestic pure. They are incredible as all get-out. I'd be lost if weren't for you all here :) And the tops of fire-pokers is actually very interesting to me as well. That makes perfect sense given their size---how exciting!

I got two answers from my friends on FaceBook and they each said the same thing, either fireplace poker handles or spindles from a bed post....

Perfect :) Thank you all so much for all your help :)

scroll holders????

What about parts of a bathroom towel holder.  I have had one where the short  cross bars of a double towel rack were able to be pulled out.  they were metal and porcelain and narrower on one end to fit the hole they slipped into.  It was a railroad towel holder.  Just a thought.
