The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Hello and Welcome! We are always thrilled to meet new members... :)

About Us

The Vintage Village is comprised of many features that all revolve around Antiques, Vintage & Collectibles, but we really are more of a Community then anything else.

We began as a gathering place where anyone who loved Vintage, no matter what corner of the world they were from, could simply come hang out and share that love. We have become a simply amazing community... but we have evolved into much more then that over the years... :)

Our Community always has and always will be absolutely free to join.

If you sell vintage, you can also take part in our very successful and wildly affordable Premium Membership (a.k.a. The Diamond Club) which is a promotional / social networking service.

Whether you are here to shop for the perfect vintage item listed here in our Photo Gallery or shop via our Express Lane or whether you want to do some research, share some stories or promote your goods, come say hello and tell us a little about yourself right here in this welcome thread... :)

For detailed information please go to the Member Info Center located in the group area. You will find everything you need to know about our Village right there. If not… just ask!!! :)

Also visit our FAQ page for a quick overview.

Hi I am Elizabeth, I just found this site. I am so excited! I love everything vintage and have decided to sell some of my things as we are downsizing.

So glad you could join us everyone... :)

Hello One & All...Glad to be a new member here. I grew up with wonderful parents & grandparents who took pride in their worldly possessions, most of which were found at  flea markets, rummage sales, thrift shops and/or auction sales.  They maybe were some of the first hoarders in captivity....lol.  FireKing dishes are my favourite collected items, preferrably the Turquoise dishes/kitchenware  made from 1956-1958, but I also like many other colors/patterns FireKing  made over the years. I love old original print cookbooks too. Another of my prize possessions is my original copy of the  Old Fashioned Cookbook by Carla Emery. No money could ever buy this book from me. I will try to post some pics of my favs here sometime or sell a few things, but for now as a newbie....I'll just enjoy everyone else & their treasures/stories/finds for now.

We're so glad to have you here and it sounds as if you have quite an interesting and well loved collection:)

Enjoy the village and if there's anything we can help you with...just let us know:)

Looking forward to seeing your items....

Lora and Pam

Thanks Lora & Pam, glad I found the site....Looking forward to seeing everyone  elses treasures too....

Hello everyone.  I'm new to the collectibles world too by way of my husband who was a dealer and collector for many, many years (before we met and married in 2008).  Now I've gotten the bug and am picking up where he left off, using the internet instead of just doing flea markets, antique shows, etc.

Wow, this is really a great site and I am looking forward to learning more and making new friends.  Working on establishing another online presence "Blue Barn Relics" to showcase and sell items that range from vintage postcards, magazines and books to glassware, china, silver, depression era and carnival glass, vinyl 33 and 45's and anything that is old, odd and unusual.

I do have a blog and 2 online shops at Etsy and Ruby Plaza under The Parlour Floor which focuses on vintage jewelry and accessories (i.e., hats, handbags, purses, cufflinks, tie-bars, etc.).  It's fun... work as well.  There is just sooo much stuff and it's overwhelming at times since I'm the only one who is computer savvy (somewhat) and take all the photos, descriptions, etc.  My husband likes to constantly go out and pick up stuff (and I can barely keep up).  When I look at other people's shops where there are hundreds of items listed, I wonder ... how in the heck do they do it???  Any advice or assistance would be very helpful to me.

Anyway, I look forward to making new friends and continually learning.

Denise Puryear

Hi Denise,

Welcome to VV:)  I'll add you to our Etsy Seller / VV Member thread that we use for treasury curation, found at

http://thevintagevillage.com/group/etsy/forum/topics/vintage-villag...

We also have a Vintage Village Team on Etsy for promotional, as well informational purposes at

http://www.etsy.com/teams/8149/the-vintage-village

My best advice to you would be consistency in your daily listing/promoting routine - the keeping up will follow as you get everything down to a "science":) Listings at a certain time, photos at a certain time and shipping at a certain time...I do my best to follow my own schedule, it's not always possible but it gives me a little piece of mind and helps to take some of the pressure off as far as how much I get done in a day.  There are times I feel that I put in more hours now than I did when I was working fulltime (and my fulltime was 14 hour days!lol)

This would be a great topic of discussion, to get everyone else's input - I'll start a thread in Shopkeeper's Corner later today:)

In the meantime...we're glad you're here and have fun roaming around the Village!

Pam

Welcome to the village.... Pam has great advice for you... consistency and routine. :) Can't wait to see your items. :)
Thanks Pam.   I figured as much..... I really need a HUGE Calendar that stares me in the face daily so that I can stick to my routine and avoid distractions!  I do have items on Ruby Plaza and Etsy as the Parlour Floor and we've been in contact before through BIV.  Anyway, thanks sooo much!

Hello from Canada : ). I've been selling online since 2003 when there was really only one place to sell, but I've been looking for new venues. Ironically, I've been having a blast, even if it's hard to go from Powerseller to Newbie all over again. I'm painfully new to this site, but I'll be taking a look around over the next few days. I currently sell on Etsy, Bonanza, and am getting a blog off the ground. My passion is anything vitage, with a history : )

Jewel : )

Welcome Jewel:)

We're glad to have you here...if you have any questions (I'm also on Etsy), please feel free to let me know...convo me there or message me here:)

Also, you may want to stop by our Vintage Village Team Thread for a little promotion at

http://www.etsy.com/teams/8149/the-vintage-village

Additionally, we have our Etsy and Bonanza groups here for pertinent info and general discussion.

Once again, welcome aboard!

Pam
