The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Hi everyone! Lora and I have been discussing me doing a podcast (weekly? bi-weekly? monthly?) to go along with the Flipping Vintage blog and forum. I would love for you all to let me know if that is something you would be interested in listening to, and if so, when and how often do you think it should be on? What types of things would you like to hear on it? If I do it, do you think I be talking into the void, with no one listening? lol

Thanks!
Mitzi

I can start this off by telling folks what I would like to see happen... :)

I think it can serve as a variety of things. I know Mitzi's main focus will be the business end of our field but we can also just do fun things and maybe even some identification help if something interesting comes along.

The main thing we need to know is what kinds of subjects would you like to "hear"

What is so cool about doing podcasts is that once they are recorded, then can be uploaded to your phone/iPad/mobile devices and you can listen to it anytime. Then Mitzi & TVV can have a library of sorts of valuable info.

And the podacsts can last for maybe 10 or 15 minutes or so or an hour if we have a hot topic with lots of callers.

And they may just be Mitzi doing an interview and not calls or Mitzi doing a "show" where she just informs the public about a subject. Maybe a series of tips. :)

Point is we need your input to get the ball rolling... :)

And they don't have to be on any time line... maybe just when we get a topic to talk about. Even if we do two a year... that's cool too.. :)

I think it's a great idea!

Having said that I will share that in my personal experience, when I've been involved with something that had podcasts, I very rarely remembered to listen to them, if I remembered to download them at all.

That's just me though :)

I think a podcast would be great! I love listening to them, it is so much easier than reading a post. When I find one I like I have it set up in itunes to download automatically so I don't even have to do anything. I also go back and re-play  the ones that were especially helpful.

As for topics, I would love to hear similar topics as covered in the blog. I don't think getting to far into the business end would be as interesting. There are already several podcasts that are all about selling online. I am more interested in the specifics of vintage sellers and collectors. I am not to knowledgeable about vintage items, only what I have learned by selling items I find at thrift stores and yard sales.
