Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I decided to work late tonight doing some updates to items and am finding the pages loading so slowly on both RL & RP. Sometimes timing out! It is making modifying anything near impossible! Anyone else seeing this? I am fast everywhere else on the  Net

I do hope this isn't going to be a problem tomorrow for cyberMonday

The slowness issues seem to be sporadic for me.  Last evening, anything I clicked on in the Shop Owner's Home page was very slow to load.  I was trying to manage a couple PO's and it took several minutes for each to load.  The day before, I was listing items and had no slowness issues.  I made 3 sales yesterday after a week's dry spell, but it was the 1st of the month when a lot of people get paid.

Yes I agree that it is sporadic and that I think may be a reason why CS often tell us that the site is running fine, because when they check...it may be!

It has been off and on slow for me now since when the preparation started for the server move. I managed to add something last night but prior to I couldn't even get in to RL or RP...got the Internal Server error and I tried all 3 browsers FF,Chrome and IE....all other sites I tried were up and running fast.

Ornaments....I hope you notify CS of that email from the customer as it really is important for them to know this IS having a potentially negative impact on our business.

I sent CS an email last night telling them about my customer's problem and also telling them that I wasn't seeing a performance problem myself.   I also encouraged the customer to email CS.  I'm worrying that there is a larger problem and that the tech folks aren't aware of how widespread it is.  The apparent randomness of this is really odd.

I had also emailed Customer Service about the slowness and received the following response this morning:

Thank you for taking the time to let Ruby Lane Customer Support know
about the issue you are experiencing with the site.

We are aware of this issue and our Tech Team is investigating this
matter.

If you should receive any specific error messages when viewing our
site, please send us the error message and the date and time (pacific
time) you got that error message in your reply to this email. That
information will then be forwarded to Tech to further assist with their
investigation.

I just got pretty much the same email.

I see another thread started about this  http://thevintagevillage.com/group/rubylane/forum/topics/servers-to...

Well, I just logged into my account again.  When I marked an item shipped and went to send a message to the buyer from the PO page (at 14:20 on  12/2/11), this is the error message I received:

Oops, our servers are too busy right now serving other users! Please try again in about 10 seconds.

I'm on my way to the post office and FedEX and will report to CS when I return.   This is the first error message I've seen thus far with the exception of my browser showing NOT RESPONDING every time I'm  doing random housekeeping with a PO.

I'm getting very frustrated.  :0(

For me, it's slow but not awful.  And I did just get a really nice sale.  I suspect that even if it looks bad to you, at least some of your customers may be able to get to your shop.  When I get a minute I will try to access some shops and see how it looks from my side.  UPDATE - I checked Remtique, Pearl's Parlor and Antique Beak and could get to shop home pages and items.  I don't have time to do more right now, but like I said, at least some people should be able to get through and place orders.

Thanks so much for checking.  That helps to know that some people will be able to access the shops.

It is driving me crazy it is so slow. I just hope that our customers can get their orders through. Good Luck everyone hope you all sell a lot during our Red Tag Sale despite the hick ups.

I was doing some last minute tweaking, and it was crawling.  Now that the sale should be starting, I was going to look to see if there were any bargains for me.  And I get:

An internal server error occurred. Please try again later.

So I type out the message above and hit refresh and get:

Oops, our servers are too busy right now serving other users! Please try again in about 10 seconds.

Me too and I can't get into my shop. System overload but come on Ruby Lane this is going to hurt us.

Red Tag Sale has just gotten underway and I made a sale immediately. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to customer because I cannot get into the POs. All I get are timeouts. Oh boy.
