Ok, another doll.
I just picked her up as I am supposed to be moving my dolls out. (sure)
Her head is marked 21 Horsman. I think the head may be a Vanessa Doll?
The body is odd. When I got her she had cotton batting stuffed in her head and it was majorly glued on.
Not sure if I should of messed with her at all but she was stiff and arms and legs would not bend. I got them moving again and cleared her eyes which were all covered over with something.
My ?'s are does the top part of the body even go with this or is it something someone put to hold the head.
I do know the body is a fashion doll though. All together she is 20 inches.
Any ideas what I should do with the doll or do they actually belong together? Head and body?
She had a totally wrong outfit on as well.

I have seen doll bodies with this connector mechanism, so believe it is original...but I don't think the head is correct for this body. It should be a more mature head, perhaps like the doll shown on p.239 in the book "Twentieth Century Dolls" by Anderton.

So I now have a Horsman doll head and a body. Why do people do stuff like this.
Permalink Reply by Gardenartus Antiques on March 6, 2012 at 4:26pm You can sell them separately. That body looks fairly new but they are expensive to buy so you should be able to sell it with no problem. Look up composition doll bodies to get an idea of value.

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on March 6, 2012 at 5:46pm It is not composition but hard plastic.
Not sure what to call either one of them or ask.
Is the head Cindy or Vanessa? Horsman 21 mark.
