Yesterday I was on Flickr and found a pair of earrings that exactly match a pin I have. We are both Etsians (and VFG) members. So I wrote to suggest we do an experiment and cross promote each other!
On my piece I have her Etsy shop noted and a link to her earring page
On her website where the earrings are she put a direct link to my pin!
It will be fun to see what kind of traffic we see in our analytics .... and it'll be a hoot if a customer shows up to buy both! It will be the longest match ever made cause the earrings are in the UK and the pin is in NY!
Gotta love online vintage selling - it really makes it a small world afterall! :)
I think this could be a great way to team market when the opportunity arises.

we on the Rubies could only do this directly on fb, twitter, here etc as we are not allowed to add links in our listings like you can on Etsy

I think the Etsy teams are the greatest for cross promotion of etsy sellers, as we take turns promoting other shops on the teams we belong too. But I think facebook is the best for cross promotion! I may have been the first vintage seller to start a facebook advertising fan page specifically for vintage sellers, and I'm so glad many have followed suit! Besides our "Vintage Village" fan page, there are now a series of "Got Vintage" fan pages with different categories, where you may post your listings. Quite a few sellers have invited various people to post on their business fan pages also.
Everyone here at The Vintage Village, is cordially invited to post 2 vintage / antique items daily, from the 1960's and older, on the facebook fan page of Old Fashioned Charm! I hope to see you there!
