The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Hi Everyone... There is sooooo much to learn and understand that even though I am trying to provide a platform for sellers to learn about all the aspects of selling, I have to be blunt and tell you that most of the things related to Google confuse and overwhelm me.

So I will be learning along with you. :)

I know the basics but it's getting so complicated to follow that I felt we needed an entire group to try and make sense of it all.

I am going to post information and some of it may not be things that I have fully read, but are putting in place to try and lay a foundation for discussion.

So be patient with me for a little bit until I get some more threads going... :)

I am trying to find a way to organize it all and right now I am just copying info from the WebMaster Academy so we can view it and discuss it.

Thanks...

Lora

Thanks, Lora ... you really are the best.

Color me confused.

:( karen

Thanks Karen... :)

I also want to point out that a lot of this won't apply directly to your individual shops but applies more to the overall function of websites like VV and other venues.

By reading what a site must do, you can also learn why we push for the things that gets you seen by Google... :)

By knowing what a website has to do to be found, helps me in the long run by just understanding the process. :)

Hope that makes sense! :)

I am going to call it quits for tonight, I think I have enough info to get us started through this maze! :)

Thank you  Any information opens a door to understanding this world we entered into and makes us better shop owners.  I appreciate your willingness to share.

Thanks Lora for the information and the group. I think google goes out of their way to be confusing

Oh you wonderful brave lady!  Thanks for creating the group and info!

Thanks for your information too! I am in the process of a google page too and the Google plus is a little confusing. I do like that we can add photos there.

Smiles, Cyndi

I don't want to get into google because they are so confusing and I am having a hard time with what I got

Social Networking ( I assume you mean Google +) is just part of the work on-line sellers have to participate in though. If you don't, then your odds of spreading the word goes down.

You do have to limit yourself to what you can manage in a day, no one can do it all... :) It's just a matter of having a schedule that you can deal with ... say a few hours a days... and sticking to it as much as possible. Google + is really like FaceBook in it's set up but the advantage is that it's connected to Google Search results! :) It's like eating your peas!!! You may not like peas but they are good for you!!! lol ;)

so I am on face book, twitter,  linkedin haven't done much with any of them but I can't run them all effective ly, should I drops some and pick up google

FaceBook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google + are the ones every seller should try to promote their items on.

After that you can explore LinkedIn and Stumble Upon and other places like that.

Don't drop anything! :)

Just make a list and pick and choose when and where to promote.

And FaceBook Ads can be wonderful to promote your shop also.

And of course the place you HAVE to promote on, is a cool site called The Vintage Village...... lol ;)
