Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I've accepted several friend requests and just realised this morning that I was assuming that by accepting their request I also became their friend. Am I right? Or do I need to ask them to be my friend too?

Hi Helen ...

You are right ... it goes both ways. If you're my friend, I'm your friend.

My status shows as request sent when I sent a request to you,  Catisfaction.  Does this mean that you will need to accept before we are registered as friends on the VV?
That's how it works, to the best of my knowledge.

Yes, once one accepts a friend request, both become each others' friend...when it show "request sent" it is awaiting acceptance by the person you sent it to...soon as they accept it....you are both friends :) and can message each other etc
Is there a way to request another member to be your friend, if you don't know their email address?   Thanks for any info.
yes there is (just went and looked) if you go to the persons profile page there is an add as friend link on the left hand side :)
Thanks so much.  I was on the right hand side where it shows Friends-Invite.   Thanks again.
I assume you are talking about this site and not FaceBook. You got the answer about this site, but on FaceBook, it's a whole different story.

?I don't see it all that different on facebook? You send someone a friend request there and if they accept it...you are friends. If they ignore it, it shows Request Sent...pretty much just like here :)

That's correct when you are using your personal profile, but not if you use a business page. It's actually kind of complicated, since people have to "like" your business from their personal profile even if they too have a business page, and then in return you have to go "like" their business page, provided they leave you a link to it and you can figure out the connection between the person and the business. It's kind of silly, really. Bottom line is that you have a facebook business page and you want a return "like", leave a comment with a link to your own page.
