Member Spamming, Trolling, Sock Puppets

The Vintage Village does not allow Spamming of Members.

Spamming is the act of either mass emailing

or individually emailing other members

with the intent of Promoting.

The Vintage Village will not tolerate Trolling.

Trolling is the act of causing an argument or

intentionally doing something to disrupt the community.

~ ~ ~

The Vintage Village will not tolerate Sock Puppets

and will ban any member

that is determined to be a Sock Puppet.

Sock Puppets are members who create

accounts to hide their true identity

~ ~ ~

The Vintage Village will not allow any member to publicly discuss private disputes.

This site will not be used as a platform for bashing of any kind.

Issues involving this will be judged on a case by case basis.

Suspension from our community is the risk you take if you partake in this kind of activity.

Please contact ME privately with any problems

Wow, you learn something new everyday! Of course I knew what spamming was, but I had no idea about Trolls and Sock Puppets!

I do apologize for putting a link on for the Ruby Lane call out last night, I didn't fully understand how to send it, and since it was limited to six people, I got overly enthusiastic in my rush to send something.

i have sons so i know what those things are. when i was young a "troll" was an older man "on the make" in a bar bothering much younger women.

That's okay.... :) I fully understand that 99.9% of people do this with completely innocent intentions.... :) The problem occurs when all members do this and then the site becomes flooded with emails and folks get bombarded with what is essentially "Junk mail".

We give folks the perfect way to promote via the PM and that is the absolute best way to spread the word to more then just a few people here.

Etsy is FULL of them. Folks like to sign up for free accounts just so they can harass other people... sick isn't it?

Really !!!! I am so out of the loop, people are certainly very weird out there. Well, no Sock Puppets in our Village... only if they are handmade and for sale !!!

Knock wood. I have only had about 3-4 difficult customers on Etsy in 2 years... about the amount i get on FeeBay every week. What do they do? and why? is it a competition thing ? i know a lot of artists (i sell supplies) who are upset with the new stuff being listed as handmade.

I actually never knew those terms myself until I sold on Etsy. The fact that people even do this kind of stuff.... geeezzz... they need a hobby I think.... :)

Geesh the words that folks come up with. Now Trolls to me are those old ugly dolls that were popular in the 60's-70's and sock puppets were old socks you made puppets out of. Spamming is plural for all them cans of spam I never ate. lol

I too was blind as to a troll or sock puppet....now I know...I promise to never troll or sock or spam anyone...
