The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Bill has changed the name from Bonanzle to Bonanza

apparently bought out the rights to the domain name, after the creator (?) of the original Bonanza series died (2 weeks ago)

all links are going to be redirected to the new name

also, there will be limited (if any?) BonanZA's allowed - they are revamping the entire BonanZA idea (where you can sell your items for a discounted price)

also, if you speak out about it, (like I did) you get your forum privileges taken away (like I did)

(edited: actually - he just skipped over the steps and completely removed my booths - no longer allowed to chat or list items or edit my booth on Bonanzle at all - mature, yes?! ::rollEyes::)

there are some (and rightly so) LIVID folks over there - no warning, no nothing - just we's gonna do it just becuz we can

and many sellers just paid out ton$ of money to have biz cards, banners, etc printed up with the old BonanZLE - now they are having to toss out all those to change it to BonanZA

unbelievable -

and so close to Christmas!!!

what was he thinking?!!!!!

you know - announce it and all that - let folks know - lord knows, i wasn't enamored since the beginning with the name BonanZLE - but at least WARN them, first!

and do the name change AFTER the holidays -- good grief

must be the water ...

Covered Bridge I am sorry to hear of this occurring for you but I am not surprised as it has been happening to many for quite some time now.... I even got DMV's for posting a "smiley face" And good friends of mine has all been "slapped hard" too We have all earned a valuable lesson and that is t promote your Brand Bonanza can take care of itself. Once Mark and Bill accepted the Angel Money the forums became a place of extreme censorship

Many of the old timers are now add ing ADDoway as one of the alternative places they sell

sorry folks... didn't see this... I will change the banner and name soon.... :) I have to make a new one.
Thanks for updating the site to reflect the new name! You are on top of it!!
geez Gail I just found out this morning you got booted. The idea that they would kill someone's business just because they didn't like what that person had to say disturbs me. Guess I'll be staying off the forums till I've solidified my presence on other venues, just to be safe.

Really sorry to see you go.

I'm so sorry this happened CoveredBridge......
You will be missed alot..
I am so sorry to hear all this about the venue. Since this IS a public group... please make sure you don't get yourselves into trouble. :)

Feel free to contact each other privately by using the messaging system here.

Make friends... then cc all the friends that you want to discuss issues with.

Again so sorry you guys have to be afraid to speak your mind there.... very sad indeed.

Good luck folks
Who is the one responsible for shutting down seller's stores on whim?

@fioridizucca - not a clue who is diRECTlyresponsible - but Bill had to approve it in some way.
Like I said earlier - not much was said on the Bonanzle site (at least not as much as OTHERS stated, and they are still there ... ) - I think it's because I made comments on other venues/blogs - and because those same venues are public, AND read by the powers-that-be at the Bonz ... that had to be their decision-maker - I certainly didn't say anything on the Bonz to warrant complete deletion of all my booths.

But Elsie is right - they read this, too - so be careful of what you say in public - if you want to contact me directly, I'm at CoveredBridgeStore . at . Yahoo.com

Meanwhile - Happy selling to all!

Gail, This is probably a stupid question, but have you contacted mgmt. at Bonanza and asked them what caused your booths to disappear there? Could it have been some mistake? With all the changes they are making, I'm just wondering.
I'm pretty upset hearing these things about the site and am in the process of moving my items out of there. I've read about this Nazi type of behavior on Bonanza in other forums so I have no doubt that you experienced what you say you did. The way that I was censored on the boards for such innocuous postings and the warning emails I received were a real eye opener. This disemvoweling tactic they use really turned me off also. They think it's a clever, fun, upbeat way to veil their hostile passive aggressive censorship and their choice of the word disemvoweling is truly revolting. I just can't be a party to this type of behavior and if I stay there it means I am in agreement with it. There is a difference in having a board moderator and having a gestapo. Shutting down someone's store for voicing an opinion is unacceptable to me. There is something seriously wrong at that website and I think buyers can sense it. Buyers are not going to visit or return to a cheerless shopping site and this website has an aura of being dispirited.

it's their loss.........
It isn't only their loss, it causes a tremendous amount of financial loss for sellers also. It has cost me a lot of money spending months setting up a store when I could have been putting my time into selling on other venues. When I discovered Bonanza's Nazi tactics I started generating income elsewhere instead of wasting my time on a doomed venue. I would have never set up shop there had I known this all in the beginning.
