Bonanzle's Filter for Google Search Prohibited Words...a reason for slow sales? maybe

Well, this is a sensitive subject but so important to discuss.  I have wondered and theorized about slow sales of great items, well priced etc...on Bonanzle for 2 years now and just today I've found out about Bonanzle's filter for google product search.  Bonanzle seems to have a very strict filter to remove any item listings with titles with google prohibited words...

Sorry if I offend anyone, but Dick in Dickens, Ass in Assimilated... and other dumb filters are happening at Bonanzle.

You might want to read this thread and see the experimentation that pugs has done with her items such as Dickens Christmas Village pieces....that were filtered out of the Bonanzle feed to google search... and a list from others of google prohibited words

Well, I just read the thread and what I am getting is that it's a filter put in place by Bonanzle. That makes no sense to me. I mean, I know there are words that Google doesn't allow - when I used to submit my own feeds, I ran into it a few times.

But why do they not submit the items and let Google make the decision? Maybe it's changed, but when I submitted my own feeds, a word in a title or description that was prohibited did not cause my entire feed to be rejected - just those items.

I think at the least, Bonanzle should share the list of the words they filter with their sellers - but having that strict a filter is problematic regardless.

Sorry this is happening there and I hope you can get it resolved.
thanks for the tip

I have Free shipping on 2nd pattern on all my listing!!!!!
The list of possible "prohibited" words in titles and description that might cause a listing to be left out of google product search feed is...innumerable.

It's too much to even try and think about...
Some have thought of purposely misspelling words in titles etc. to get their items thru the Bonanzle filter but I would never be able to do that. I'd not be able to sleep at night...not in my moral compass to mispell :)
Google is hard to figure out...they are forever changing their rules, what they will approve, and what they won't approve. If you attempt to cheat the Google system by using misspellings or asterisks or other tricks it is considered abuse.

They do not like promotional words such as free, sale, vacation, travel, travels.

They do not like anything alcohol & tobacco related in words.

Adult & Explicit/naughty words are not allowed.

And then...they have some miscellaneous words they do not like.

And, yes, words that the 1st 3 letters of it spell something inappropriate is not accepted either.

After learning some of this, seeing an older list of google disallowed words I am following more of why my items are 'maybe' not showing in google. Sure wish I had known about some of this so I could have corrected it, but am learning things myself, and hopefully can better myself from it too.

I know if you talk to judy there..bluepennylady? is that the right name? getting a little late for me:-)...she can help you, or tell you things too.

Now, I have just recently listed a few items at another venue...trying it out. Anyway, listing there was very easy, pleasant, and when I clicked to publish the listing it came back up with a red letter notice....I was using a word that was not google approved. Well, shoot, I hadn't thought of it because it was used more towards the end, out of the first words that are usually submitted to google, but I had the chance to go through my listing, change the word & rephrase things, and then it was published for me.

I don't have all the answers as with google I don't really see how anyone could. But, I have shared what I have learned myself, and hope it will help ya'll with a few things here:)
