I have been having a lot of trouble with the format of pages and viewing images lately when I used Chrome. It straightens up sometimes when I close my browser or clear the history. But it goes back quickly to having trouble. I don't have the same problem when using IE9. I also was unable to see the images of a recent email sent to my gmail address. I could not see them either on my desktop email, on the RL link that I clicked, or online on gmail. I wondered if anyone else is having the same problems with their Google-type links to RL. I have no idea what might be causing my problems, since I am not aware of any changes to my system.
I just checked Anita, and it looks ok to me. I viewed it as a customer would, and all seemed to look "normal"
Hi Anita - I use Chrome but have not noticed any problems....yet. I'll keep an eye on it though. I know I routinely clear my cache several times during the day, as it seems to run faster. By the way, I just checked your shop and everything looks fine (and beautiful too!). Carol Anne
I wish I could find what the glitch might be. Maybe one of my add-ons need to be disabled.
I don't use Chrome, but the general thing to do if a browser is acting wonky is to clear the cache (which is not the same thing as history) and run a freeware program called CCleaner that you can download at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner. CCleaner will clear your browser cache, empty your recycle bin, fix corrupt ActiveX files and generally clean the scuzz out of your system. I run mine once a week!
Thanks, Jan. I have cleaned the cache when I cleared the history. It is a bit inconvenient, since I have to resubmit passwords each time I do it. If I clear the cache without clearing the history, maybe it wouldn't be so much work. I'll try the ccleaner when I do it next time.
Anita, I use Firefox but today I am noticing that RL is acting a bit weird, pages with photos aren't loading up as quickly as they usually do and I'm seeing the words instead of pics and other formatting issues. It clears up when I refresh but I suspect if it's just started over the past few days, it's because of the programming for the RTS.
After reading a couple of messages around, I am starting to feel not so alone. If I remember right, my problems started on the day that GA went down. May be a coincidence. Guess this is a good topic for the Shop Owner's group. My Chrome has been working well with RL this evening, so it could just be a temporary glitch somewhere along the line.
It has been happening more often for RL and Priceminer. Today I may have discovered the cure. I signed into Google so Chrome could be synced. I am usually signed into Google, so I don't know why signing in especially to sync helped.
I had received an email from RL, but could not see the images. When I clicked the boxes, I just ended up at unformatted pages. After I signed in to sync Chrome, I was able to see the pages correctly. I don't know why I am losing my synchronization, but it looks like what is happening.
Never mind. That didn't help after all. I guess I'll just have to clear my cache a few times each day. Or migrate all my bookmarks to IE9.
