I just noticed that some of my items have migrated to the Back Room without my assistance. I noticed it first in my Ruby Plaza shop - about 7 or 8 items. When I checked Ruby Lane there were 2 there as well. Has anyone else had this happen? Any idea why it might happen?

I got a reply from CS that all my settings are confirmed as 5 years, unlimited vies, keep in shop and that is another item moves without permission, I should leave it in the backroom and notify them

Permalink Reply by Pearl's Parlor on March 18, 2012 at 7:22am Here is a different problem I've been noticing with items moving to the backroom. I have a number of items on sale and even though there is an on sale category under backroom, they all move into the regular price category, along with items that are actually regular price. Plus when I go to modify them, under "how shall we display it", it is changed back to regular price, instead of what I had - on sale with regular price crossed off.
So this means I can't use the Power Update function to just move everything back into the shop. The sale items will show the sale price as the regular price, and then no longer appear on the home page as Sale Items.
Hope this makes sense. Just wondering if that is happening to anyone else. Thanks.

Speaking of Power Update. I just noticed when I put the items back to regular price that there is a spot that lets you check off No Confirmation, Delivery confirmation, signature conf. which I can not do a power update on them without changing the shipping which I do not want to change that part. The default is set for no del. conf. which is a way I never ship. Ugghhh I am putting off updating anything and am grateful right now we don't have much in our shop. They really need to change the default to del conf.
LOL just saw your post about this, whew so glad I don't have to manually update all the items.
Permalink Reply by Georgia J Scott on March 18, 2012 at 12:06pm I saw your posts on this topic today, checked my Ruby Plaza shop and once more found two items had been placed in my Backroom for no reason. This continues to happen to my shop on a regular basis.

Yes, it's strange. Maybe it will get straightened out soon.

please be sure to report it to Customer Support on Ruby Plaza as then they will realize there are more shops experiencing this...I frequently am told , when I report an issue, that it must be isolated to me, and then when I explain others on TVV have also reported it, I am told that only reports sent to CS are given attention sooooooo......
if it is still happening ....please be sure to report it!

Permalink Reply by Pearl's Parlor on March 19, 2012 at 10:49am Thought I would share the response I received from Customer Service about my problem of sale items mixed in with non-sale items in the backroom. It was my fault because I didn't change the "What next" block for the sale items (didn't even think of it):
Thank you for contacting Ruby Lane Customer Support.
We checked several of your items currently listed as On Sale and in your
shop. We found that in the 'What next?' section of those listings you
have the settings to:
- x number of days or y number of views, then
- move item to your backroom,
- keep the same Price, and
- show price as stated
The 'show price as stated' option tells the system to simply show the
price you have input in the 'Current Price' area of the listing. This
essentially is the 'regular price', and doesn't save the Sale settings
the listing may currently have.
If instead you want it to continue to be shown as 'On Sale' you need to
select one of the other options in that third selection box besides
'show price as stated'. Such as one of the sale indicator selections,
like:
- show price as Sale
- show price as Sale with original price crossed out
and so on....
Then when the item is moved to your backroom, it will continue to be
shown as a Sale price or Sale price with the original price crossed out,
etc... rather than be shown as regular price.

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on March 19, 2012 at 11:32am May not be related at all but I have never, every used the power update on either my RL or RP shops. (always concerned I may push the wrong thing and erase my 800 plus items or something)
I do not have issues of items moving in the back room unless they show the allotted time I place. Possibly the problem is in the power update system itself. Just suggesting. .......

I find it sort of silly though if I have something set at 500 or so and it is a hot item from some forum like the Vintage Village.
Someone possibly wants to buy it at 498 and then cannot decide. Then they push the 501 and it disappears on them.
I am just now starting to put items as forever or 2 years.

Permalink Reply by Ornaments on March 20, 2012 at 8:49am Well I have a new one. I added an item to RP last night and while it looks fine from the back end, it isn't appearing in my shop or in searches. I've checked and it is set correctly - not in the back room. Sent an email to CS this AM.
