Permalink Reply by CheriShops - Admin on April 12, 2012 at 9:48am Hi Cheryl...not sure what is meant by "Google default"? If you mean Internet Explorer then yes, it is the glitchiest of all browsers IMO
I have been having problems with my shopowner functions since the server change and tech are still troubleshooting it for me, so yes, this is a problem I encounter frequently, nomatter which browser I use (I am usually on FireFox)
But my situation may be different from what you are experiencing and so the very best way to have this checked is to send in a report to RL customer service by using the email "help" form in your shop owner section. If anyone else has reported it, they will then be able to troubleshoot even better.
Permalink Reply by Cheryl F Plue on April 12, 2012 at 10:00am I'm relieved to hear its just not me having a problem...yes, its internet explorer I've had this problem with but never when using Google Chrome.. my "shop owners home" hasn't been working 100% since the change over which I have reported to CS...I will report this also to CS ....

Cheri's problems are 'unique' and we are working to identify and resolve her issues ---- hopefully soon.
IE has a mind of its own. Sometimes folks experience issues when using IE because they are using older versions of the browser and in some cases it has to do with the age of the computer. However, some have reported a few issues with vista and IE9. Most folks switch to Google Chrome and have no problems. I am using the latest version of Firefox and have had no problems with shop owner functions.

Permalink Reply by CheriShops - Admin on April 12, 2012 at 12:58pm That is a rather broad statement to make Carol as the problems I have been having cover a wide range of issues, some of which have been reported by several other members here (and I am told by some, to CS)
The problem I have with photos is apparently one that many experience (at least that is what the tech helping me said) and it is related to how many items have been recently added and so how many photos are queued on that server etc etc etc..... The issue with newly added items defaulting to the backroom was also noted by the tech as having been reported by others. .... etc etc
So, as I clearly told Cheryl above, the cause of her problems may be very different from those that I am experiencing...still, I do not find it accurate for you to lump all that I have been experiencing since the server change into one "unique" dismissal!!!
Just perhaps the one "unique" thing is that I have been consistently reporting the issues to CS since they started occurring........

Permalink Reply by Cheryl F Plue on April 12, 2012 at 5:59pm I reported the page freeze using IE to CS...their reply was, if I am not having problems using Google Chrome, use Google Chrome.... that was an easy answer for CS...
I have been using IE in RL for 10 years now & had no problem with anything concerning RL functions until the web host change, then its been one thing after another...its not like I'm bonded with IE, its just the idea that there is some kind of technical problem with the new web host which needs to be fixed...at first I thought it was just me but since I've joined the discussion board I see that there are others having problems too...but I feel there are not enough of us on this discussion board to really accomplish anything as we are not a large enough group to make a difference when reporting to CS..how many shopowners just feel its their problem, like I did, & never report it...??
so okay CS, I will use Google Chrome....sorry to say, I have to use Google Chrome to get anything done in my shop...

Permalink Reply by Antique Beak on April 14, 2012 at 9:09am I, too, have problms with the shop owner functions since the change, updating PO's takes forever, my pictures don't load properly, and I often get the "we are experiencing a techinical glitch, our staff has been sent a report" message. I use IE, too, but really this is a server issue as IE wasn't a problem prior to the change. Something is amiss and asking us to change browsers rather than resolving it is rather weak IMHO.

Permalink Reply by Antique Beak on April 16, 2012 at 11:14am Thanks for the reply, Carol. I didn't report some of the issues as per the "technical glitch" message the staff has already been sent a report of the problem. Is this not so? I get this message rather frequently. Sometimes I have to redo the function I was trying to achieve (i.e. update a purchase order) and other times when I go back the item HAS been revised.
I shall endeavor to report problems as they occur, it's just usually easier to go on with what I was trying to do rather than stop and make a report. I appreciate it's to the benefit of all, however, so I'll let my fingers do the talking in the future..... :-)

You know I don't get into the middle of any issues here but in this case I want to stop the train before it goes completely off track.
Here is what I want you to keep in mind... :)
This is not a Ruby Lane Forum, it's a VV forum (group) and even though Carol is here to help sellers, she is NOT Customer Support in that she can not solve technical stuff and that all she can do is give you general help here because this is not Ruby Lane... :)
If you are having issues you must must must contact Ruby Lanes Customer Support. Period. There are no two ways about it.
This is a social group. :)
Carol did not ask me to do this and she might even be mad I am even getting involved ... but too bad!!!! :)
We are all human and when things get out of control, we try to figure out where the lesson is and move on.
So you can continue to discuss problems. :) There is nothing wrong with that. :) You can continue to talk about tech stuff and discuss common issues, but when it comes to tech stuff, and this even goes for ME when it comes to Ning, you have to make a report. It's just the way it works. Tech Geeks (and I say that with love) are not going to scan discussion threads to ferret out what is at issue. They need tickets/ reports so they can aggregate data and find a common theme.
This is by far the most active group here on VV and I am very happy to give you a place to voice your concerns and to have a place where you can learn things to help you sell more, but I just wanted to jump in and remind folks that there is a limit to the function of this group.
Again and as always, you can message me directly if you ever need to vent or speak privately.
