I was also having trouble with Search.  It just seems to get hung up and eventually shows, but super slow.  I don't think it's your laptop.

I can't get search to go anywhere tonight. Maybe it will be working again in a few minutes.  I like to think the lines are so busy with people buying that I just can't get on.

I can't get in now...I was in and it was fine...now the error message of the servers being too busy serving other users pops up...
