Hi Everyone,
Possibly this info is out there somewhere and I apologize for the redundance, if that's the case:)
I'm wondering if, we (as RL Sellers) allowed to post on the RL facebook page and if so is there any kind of limit to often we post - I understand within reason - but I just wanted to be sure that it wasn't one item at a time, etc?
Thanks in advance!
Pam

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on June 16, 2012 at 11:28am Yes, it is 2 a day. It is encouraged.

Permalink Reply by COBAYLEY on June 16, 2012 at 11:48pm Hi Pam...I do one a day...I always try to make it a "special" item. I check in to see if Ruby Lane has posted a "theme" or something else that I can link to...then I pick my item and post it.. Like I said, I do one a day. And..believe you me , I get plenty of looks to the item throughout the next 24 hours. If Ruby Lane posts a link to one of the "notes from the lane" and I think it's interesting, I always share it to my business page. If they have posted a group of items from Ruby Lane, and I think its interesting, I link it to my fb business page and to my Google + page.

Permalink Reply by Ornaments on June 17, 2012 at 8:37am Hi Pam - I list one item a day. I usually post newly listed items. A lot of people also use it to post an announcement if they're having a sale or something like that. One thing to note - due to Facebook's peculiarities if you post every day after a while you may find that your posts don't show, or won't display properly (I understand that it is something to do with FB spam prevention or something of the sort). The workaround is to post a photo instead with a link to the item in your comment about the pic.
Permalink Reply by Carmel Collectibles on June 17, 2012 at 9:53am Thanks for asking this question and for the input on how you promote yourself. I am new to facebook and have never posted on RL facebook but I did just now for the first time! I just put a comment and a link to my shop but how do I put a pic on? I copied a pic but when I right clicked to paste nothing was highlighted. What's the secret?
Permalink Reply by Fortune Gallery of Vintage on June 17, 2012 at 9:57am I'm new to Facebook and don't understand all of the features. Do you have to have a FB business page to post on RL facebook page? If I have a personal FB page, and I post on the RL facebook page, will that link back to my personal page? Thank you for any advice, Linda
Permalink Reply by Carmel Collectibles on June 17, 2012 at 10:43am I also would like to know this. At one point a year ago I had a facebook page mentioning my shop and when I posted a comment with an item I had on it went to my family and friends. This lead to some people blocking me and making comments how they did not want to be sold to. How do I get around that? I was so upset by the nasty comments that I quit using it at all until just now on RL.

Permalink Reply by Ornaments on June 17, 2012 at 10:54am If you have a business FB page you should post as the business, otherwise it will go into your personal page feed. You can post as 'yourself' on the RL FB page, but your family and friends will see it.
Carmel - you can post either by copying and pasting the direct link to the item in your shop, or by selecting Photo/Video and selecting a picture from your PC. If you do this, you should make sure to include the link to the item in you comment on the picture.
Permalink Reply by Carmel Collectibles on June 17, 2012 at 11:17am Thank you for the answer. I will have to try using a photo later and post. So in other words I need to create a business page. I think the other one which was created by my husband was maybe linked to his page. I guess I need to investigate this. Always learning and always finding more to do but that is how we get our name out there. Another Goal for my list. I will pray on keeping on keeping on when I talk to the master today. You are sweet to reply! Have a nice day. I will friend you on my page. Thanks

Carolyn - I like your line of thinking on the promoting connections, I'll do that:)
I have a business page but am having trouble getting my avatar to appear when I post - it comes up as the "shadowman" thing...so I'll have to figure that out. Fortunately, my personal page, is really only a business page as well that I set up to be able to comment and share other's posts - so I'll use that to post for now.
