Permalink Reply by Swanky Selections on August 10, 2012 at 3:12pm Hi there Graceful Shops...........I ran into exactly the same thing this a.m.. I contactedR.L. live chat & he said it wasn't site wide.....it asked me to use another email address but why do I need to that,? I asked. He said he'd check and came back asking me to go to my account (I never sign in that way) but when I clicked that it wouldn't let me sign in, just kicked me off.
To end a long story, I have know idea what happened all of a sudden it worked and I was on purchase orders which is where I wanted to be. I never did sign in........go figure!

Permalink Reply by CheriShops - Admin on August 10, 2012 at 3:50pm The RP log in page does also look different

Permalink Reply by CheriShops - Admin on August 10, 2012 at 5:19pm Just an FYI that I just had confirmation from CS that both the RL and RP log in pages have changed so it is not a glitch but a changing process that they have started.
I do wish they would notify all their CS agents when they do this so that different people dont get different replies and so end up confused all round!!!

Permalink Reply by Pearl's Parlor on August 10, 2012 at 8:38pm Just saw the new sign in page. If you don't have a Facebook account, it's now an additional step to sign in. Wonder why? I liked it the way it was. Maybe someone knows the reason?
Permalink Reply by Marni Bakst on August 13, 2012 at 12:24pm I think RL is making a lot of little changes that may have to do with mobile shopping, the site looks quite different on my phone. I do think it would be nice if management gave its dealer partner/customers a general sense of what they're planning, but maybe that's just me.

Permalink Reply by Pearl's Parlor on August 13, 2012 at 4:03pm I'm with you Marni. A quick email to the shop owners, or put something in the Forums to alert us that we're going to see a change. That way we're not caught off guard, especially when a buyer asks us about it.

I had a similar sign-in issue. I had to sign out of my browser and sign back in and that cleared it up. Haven't had the problem since then. I wanted to sign into RL as staff but because I was signed into Facebook it switched me to that email address and sign in. You should be able to sign-in as Ruby Lane shop with your nickname or your shop email address OR with your Facebook account, but you do have to be signed into Facebook to sign into RL via Facebook. It is still the same process with no additional steps or it should be. Just have to decide how you want to sign in. If you run into more sign-in issues please report it to Ruby Lane.
Mobil the only thing that changed is how RL displays the pages in a mobile view - doesn't effect your shop in any way.

Permalink Reply by Antiques du Jour on August 14, 2012 at 3:45pm I ran into the same problem the other day and thought it was just me. Why don't they just leave some things alone for pete's sake.
Permalink Reply by Ruby Lane on August 14, 2012 at 7:09pm You should only run into a sign-in issue if you are signed into your Facebook account (meaning you signed into Facebook itself and then went to Ruby Lane to sign in) If your Facebook email matches your RL shop email then the two sites are linked. The system recognizes you are already signed into Facebook and fills in the sign in info for you. If you don't want to sign in using your Facebook account then you must Log Out of Facebook before signing into RL.
That is my very, very basic understanding of how it works. I know a couple of folks have submitted questions to CS so that is good. They will get back to you with the details or how it works.
I think it was a something we had to do not something we wanted to do. A Facebook thing, but don't quote me on any of the above.
