The first Ruby Lane "Ruby Red Tag Sale" has just ended.
For some it was a roaring success, for others ... not so much.
Some saw pre-opening sales of items designated to be part of the sale.
Some saw sales early in the sale.
Some saw steady sales throughout the 24 hour period.
Some saw increased traffic to their shop, but no sales.
What questions are we left with about the sale and its future?
What did you, as an individual seller, learn from this experience?
Will you participate in future Red Tag Sales?
Tell us what you learned.
Ask questions ... share ... let's all learn how to improve the next Ruby Red Tag Sale.

Permalink Reply by Cybermogul Dolls on September 28, 2011 at 5:00pm This probably belongs in another discussion but the prices are still missing on the items sold - I am not talking about when the sale is finalized but in the new Today Listings. The item shows this but no price:
SALE PENDING
This item is Pending a Sale so cannot be purchased at this time.
Sale pending ...... but for what? How much???? Inquiring minds want to know. Am I the only seller that checks out the competition? I want to know what is selling and at what price.
Very frustrating. I know I can check the Recently Sold page after the order has been finalized. I want to know what sold today and the price placed on it by the seller. I know the price seen there is often not the finalized sale price. Ruby Lane - Please bring the price back.

Permalink Reply by Graceful Antiques on September 28, 2011 at 6:17pm If I am not mistaken this is how it has always been when item sells. You have to go to the shops main page and then use the page number to go to the end to see the price for that dealer.
I know it is that way with Whats Selling. Possibly not understanding the ?

@ Sandy, when you look at Sale Pending items now, there is NO price at all showing. It used to show the list price and would then show the final sale price once the sale reported/finalized

We might want to move the pending sale price showing stuff to a different thread. Cheri?

Permalink Reply by CheriShops - Admin on September 28, 2011 at 8:04pm I have started a new thread for the topic of the Sale Pending Prices not showing anymore...

This thread is still open for feedback on the Red Tag sale :)
Permalink Reply by Helen Welsh on September 29, 2011 at 10:03pm I was not impressed with the Red Tag Sale. I sold one item and it was not on sale. There was not an increase of traffic to my store or any questions.
I would participate again but include different items in the sale. When I saw the stats I was shocked. If they were so great why did it seem like so many people didn't make any extra sales?? If the next one is a bust like this one was I will not pay for the third one. Not worth it.
Time will tell as far as sales and going into the holiday season.
Permalink Reply by Virtu Doll - Kat on October 12, 2011 at 4:37pm I was very pleased with the Red Tag Sale. I listed 30 items on sale (10%) of my stock, and all items I really wanted to move along and was willing to discount. I sold 3 red tag items. I also sold 5 non red tag sale items during the same period. Most of these sales were to new customers.
And I went shopping myself and bought one item from a fellow Ruby Lane shop that I had never dealt with before - and made a new friend.
So for me it was awesome. I would participate again, but might not list as many items as fees come into play.
