Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I've only had a couple of listings this week, but I'm rather glad of that. When I load pictures, the first one doesn't load and the others are put out of order. The easiest way I find to fix it is to remove the pictures and to reload them. The second time it works, but it adds about 5 minutes to the listing time -- I have to wait for the pictures to appear to check if they are right. I figure that if I am having this problem, others are, too. I don't know why the pictures don't "catch" the first time.

I have that same problem on Ruby Plaza and it is frustrating. I contacted them and they said no one else was having the problem. I didn't respond because I felt that wasn't the answer to my questiion. Haven't listed since thought maybe there was a glitch. Will list this weekend to do another testing.

Is yours also not showing the first picture when you load? That may be what is throwing things off with the order of the others. If enough people are having this problem, CS will know it is just not a fluke.

apart from slooooowwwww loading, I haven't had a problem with the photos adding today

The glitch appears to be gone now. I guess a couple of my planets were just out of line.

I'm glad to see this here. Sometimes I'm not sure if it's software or me!

I thought I had added pictures correctly, and then when I went to look at what I added, the first picture that showed up for one of the items was the last picture with the mark! I just deleted all the pictures and uploaded them again and it was fine. I'm glad I looked, though. I can't imagine what my customers would have thought, seeing that picture! It certainly wasn't the most attractive of the pictures!

I added eight items and this only happened with one item. This was on Ruby Plaza on Friday afternoon.

Hi,

The first page that comes up after you add an item with pictures contains this information:

"It may take up to 60 seconds to process your picture."

Sometimes an image server can get a little backed up because there are a lot of users changing pictures.  This can cause it to take a little longer than usual to convert a picture.

Please be sure to wait until all pictures have loaded completely in your listing before attempting to make edits to any of them. If you notice the little picture man in the listing simply click to 'Modify' the item (change nothing), scroll down to the bottom and click Modify. Then click View Item on the next page that comes up.

Also, keep in mind it may take 15 minutes for a new listing to display in the public side of your shop.

Then if the Modify trick doesn't work see the instructions in http://boards.rubylane.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1...

With the above in mind, when modifying the item pictures make sure the right pic is chosen for the primary picture slot.

Removing your photos and adding them again takes much longer to do, than the above.

It happened again tonight. This time three of the middle pictures were left out. So I waited a few minutes and checked back. They were still missing. So I uploaded again. This is not so bad to do, but the pictures need to be in a particular order. RL gives limited control over image order except for which one is the primary. I decide the order by their order when I upload. Is there an easier way to determine order than that?

So, it has happened for 3 of my last 4 listings. I'm starting to feel like I'm going into a wrestling match each time I list. Pardon the complaining, all.
