 that it has insufficient ram

------------

You can add more ram to your computer with a ram stick. Nominal price depending on how much you want to add. Places like Best Buy will have them.

I may be misunderstanding. Sandy

Tell that to the buyers we are losing.  They'll be so interested to know that RL and RP expect them to spend $40-100 to upgrade their computers so that they can make purchases from RL & RP.  I'm sure they will jump right on top of that and be right back to spend hundreds of dollars.

This is not about ME.  It's about the lack of consideration that the tech team has for our customers.

I don't think it's totally accurate to extrapolate that we are losing customers because you can't get RL & RP to load correctly tho?

RL has a large enough regular customer base for them to have been flooded with email complaints if this was a widespread problem IMHO

as mentioned before, although I have extreme slowness with some of my shopowner features, and I have an old computer, using windows XP, yet I seem to be showing the actual items pages and home page of both RL & RP just fine...fast and complete and clear.

I do sympathize greatly with your frustration...I really do. I just think we need to be careful to draw broad conclusions.

JMHO

I've ALREADY mentioned that I had a complaint this morning that they could not see my images and another potential customer told me that SHE could not either but I was able to tell her how to find the images.  She STILL did not make the purchase so perhaps she was unable to see anything as well - I thought she was really a good prospect - she sure asked a lot of questions.  Why would she bother to buy if she can't see the images?  I wouldn't waste MY time.  This is the thing - people do not waste time when they run into problems.  They move on and buy from someone on a site that does not have problems.  It's NOT just me but I am through wasting my time on this thread.

sorry Jen, I   did not see any mention of customer complaints...only that you had friends check and they were seeing it ok. My apology if I missed that.

But I do still think there would be a barrage of complaints direct from customers to RL if this was widespread...and no, I am not saying it is just you...as mentioned ad nauseum I am sure...I have other problems on the shopowner side,  so I know not everything is hunkydory....I just think those of us having glitches are fewer than those who are not...at least that's what it seems based on the few mentioning probs here and that CS told me only a very few reports have come in on the problems I experience

But that does not mean I don't understand how frustrating it is when things are not working right and we know it is a real problem!

I had been having problems with the new RP site loading, so I contacted the CS dept.  I am using windows XP and IE8.  Got an answer today.  CS told me this....

To overcome potential compatibility issues as browser versions change Microsoft installed a feature in their browsers called Compatibility View. It allows users to display Web pages in another mode. You are viewing Ruby Plaza in Internet Explorer 8, but with Compatibility View turned 'on,' which causes the page to render to you as if you were using an earlier browser version, Internet Explorer 7.

Turn Compatibility View off to correct the display you see. You can turn it off in Internet Explorer 8 by clicking the Compatibility View icon to the right of the address field at the top (the icon looks like a torn page).

To make sure a particular website will not always automatically display in Compatibility View each time you visit it, go to the Tools menu -> Compatibility View Settings to see if it is listed there. Use the Remove tool to edit the list, if necessary. Also the check boxes at the bottom should not be selected.

I did as suggested, and voila!!! it was fixed!  I had tried turning off and on the compatiblity view in the drop-down box earlier with no change.  I think that clicking on the "compatibility view icon" was the trick.  Don't know why??

Anyway, thought you all should know in case you too are having problems.
