A member mentioned this in another discussion here and it made me curious as to how my shop's bounce rate on Google Analytics compares to others?
Probably not the best week to ask this question since GA seems to not be working for RL folks.
I transferred to GA in November 2011 and my average bounce rate is 68.5%

Permalink Reply by Chantilly Dreams on July 27, 2012 at 1:01pm My bounce rate is 37.62% but I haven't had many sales. Just opened July 1st and trying not to get discouraged as I've had three sales!!! I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, and don't want to shell out a ton to an SEO/marketing company...any suggestions???

It also takes 6-8 months for a website to get established, get in all the search engines, etc. January has been a great month for sales for me for two years in a row and I'm betting you'll see an increase then also. Just keep posting here on TVV, keep posting to your Facebook shop page, keep up the social networking and you'll start to see your sales increase. I wouldn't spend any big dollars yet on advertising, just give yourself a chance to get going.
Good luck to you!

Permalink Reply by PenniLea's Vintage Places on July 27, 2012 at 2:57pm I don't know exactly what it means but mine is 66.45%. All this is new to me as I found out I need to promote my eCrater store that I am moving all items to from Ruby Plaza. Where does one go to figure out what it all means and how to improve the numbers? I have only had 4 sales in 2 months since I opened. Your insight would be greatly appreciated!

Permalink Reply by Another Time Antiques on October 24, 2012 at 3:06pm I know this is an old thread, but just found it. I used to worry alot about the bounce rate.
now I pretty much ignore it. Why? Because it never reflected what was actually taking place in my Etsy shop. High bounce number on GA was accompanied by high hits and decent sales in the shop. Not saying it isn't important, just saying that it is not worth the bother to worry about.
I would focus always on keywords and sources. Knowing the market realm is crucial.
