I signed up to see what it looked like...very similar to facebook. I think there is a sister site for auctions too, but haven't explored yet. Looks like a new start-up. Time will tell if it is viable or not. Look how Pinterest took off.

The person who sent me the link said it was a new site trying to compete with FaceBook because so many people are frustrated with all the constant changes and that people hate the new timeline.

MyPlanet was created alongside StarBid Auctions, both sites are alternatives to the two major companies FaceBook and eBay. Both sites are run by ex members of eBay and FaceBook who's mission is to create an alternative to both of the major companies.

Why did we decide to create these alternative sites?

More and more people are getting annoyed with eBay due to its high fee's and ridiculous rules being enforced at times such as forcing free shipping onto sellers and much more Click here for details

Whilst at the same time FaceBook is also forcing changes onto its members such as the new chat system and timeline.

We feel that these sites only seem to care about the money and do not listen to there members and how they feel and that is why we decided to create MyPlanet and StarBid Auctions. We have made it easy to contact us and created Forums so that our members can voice there opinions.

I Love It! More power to them!
