Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I have to share this! Went to an introductory workshop today on EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique. I was totally fascinated! I'm going to followup with practice, reading and more workshops.

What it is (I'm not expert!!!) is a tapping technique which uses particular meridian points of energy on your body. Thru intention, focus and tapping of the points, this healing tool works with the energy body to release the buildup of limiting or painful energy which arose in the past due to traumatic events. When these energy blockages are released, greater well being results.

I'm not going into the whole 9 yards of energy work here, but there are fascinating fields of study and healing. There are abundant paths: yoga, message, acupuncture, Tai Chi, etc etc. EFT is another one.

The website to visit is: http://emofree.com. The founder is Gary Craig. The beginner's manual can be downloaded for free.

This week I have had some amazing results. Don't want to go into here just yet.........there's still that little sick voice in my head going......yeah, right. But I am studying and tapping!
I say if it works.... who cares... even if it is psychosomatic.... if it helps, isn't that the goal! :)

Can't wait to hear more!
I'm reporting back in a full week after learning about this technique and practicing it. My personal results have produced a rather remarkable week for me.

I have enjoyed walking without pain all week. This is amazing! I have only taken ibuprofen 1 nite after a full day /evening of being out and standing around. Normally I would have taken 600mg ib. every nite. My left knee is behaving like it is 30. My right knee is still with minor soreness with the wrong moves and some at the back of the knee. Even after a long morning of walking all over tim-buck-2 at a park (not flat!) my knees were good and only extremely slight inflamation in right knee. Still tapping on it.

My emotional state has been very solid and positive. Being an emotional Pisces woman, that is significant! It could be my bio rhythm curve is up, or it could be from the releases I'm working on. I have a particularly difficult relationship situation occurring with a son at this time, and I have experienced a peace and calmness that a week ago was unthinkable.

I am working on releasing the holding of unnecessary body fat. My mind is saying, do this in bits. So each day I tap to release (vs lose, because I don't want it back) 5 lbs of fat I no longer need. My appetite decreased to the point I've had to remind myself to eat something just to trick the body from storing! I feel better, and down 2lbs on the actual scale. (I also swim to build up muscle again).

So, bottom line: I have faith that clearing channels, allowing for open paths of energy flow to heal and create well being works. I believe in the positive good of acupuncture as a healing tool and the use of EFT tapping on the meridian points does benefit me! It is another tool in the "health cabinet" that I wish to develop further!
This sounds really wonderful.... thank you for sharing.

Well back again with another followup on this.

It's now November and I'm participating in a 5 week class sessions on EFT and am as amazed as ever. I have had personal experience with "tapping away"
physical aches in my shoulder/arm
pain relief in my knees
release of deep old "sad spots"
and continued weight loss/body size

I just learned last week that there are now area veterans hospital organizations working with this technique for help in ptsd and related stresses. We also have a couple of traditional medical facilities in our area exploring this with their patients. That's pretty exciting.

The process is so simple ... but the listening to your body and working with a good guiding counselor can make a world of difference too. Asthma is one area that has had repeated successes in healing. My husband struggles with it ... and he wants me to teach him. But I want him to work with my teacher instead because of the depth of exploration that it could go. We store up our illnesses like a layered onion and you need to remove layer after layer to get all clear.

Since the summer I've also studied Sacred Healing Meditation (a healing spiral meditative practice) and other healing workshops. It's all connected once you start in this path ... and I find it very very rewarding and exciting. :)
