The Vintage Village

Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I love old musicals.  Thirties, fourties and fifties was the golden era for all the great song and dance movies.  (Well, ok, "Chicago" was pretty cool)  Back in the early 1950's when my family got their first television most of the programming was live.  To fill in air time they would play the old movies, and musicals topped the list.

I especially loved the movies with Jerome Kern songs and anything with Judy Garland.  So, remember a favorite star, song or movie title?  Share with me and we'll reminisce. :)

Hey girlfriend
well there were three sisters who sang Mr Sandman Send Me A Dream and I am still asking him to do so ha ha. I use to fall asleep with that song in my head.
Oh no Barb! Now you got it running in my head I won't be able to get rid of it, LOL. Was that the McGuire Sisters? :)
Its a possibility its been so long who remembers their name. la la tra la la
I'd have a hard time picking out a favorite. There's "Till the Clouds Roll By" bio about Jerome Kern, and "Yankee Doodle Dandy".....gotta love that James Cagney! And "Meet Me In StLouis"......I catch myself looking at all the props and antiques, LOL. Oh yes, Betty Grable and Dan Daily in "Mother Wore Tights" about a vaudeville family. Anyone else???
