I admired this image from a Victorian landscaping book.
The main reason I want to do this is because the comment wall can not be searched but a thread can. :)

Also, we can promote threads and share information with more people by using the FB & Twitter buttons and you can't do that with the comment wall. :)

So if you have any pictures posted on the comment wall, add them here or even begin a thread for it with a good title that can be found in a search. It also makes it easier to post comments via the Reply to This feature in a thread.
I love that Victorian homes had Atriums
Actually they atriums/conservatories attached to homes were really made popular by the Crystal Palace Exhibition in 1851 where ahuge one was built in London to showcase the wonders of Victoria's reign and the explorations/acquisitions being made all over the world by the British Empire. Great houses began to have so called Ferneries or Orangeries then and they moved down the social scale and size as peoples budgets allowed. They are a popular part of most middle class homes today in England.

A lovely antique velvet brocade coat from Philadelphia for a night at the opera! The back is slit to accommodate the bustle dress. The sleeves are doleman style which severely restrict the arm movement. It is a treasure!
