Slug Bate - Cocktails after Breakfast

OK... here's two tried and true solutions for those plant mangling slugs that plague our ever moist garden areas:  Beer and Egg shells.

Yep, not kidding.  All winter long I saved and crushed our egg shells.  Family laughed at my bowl full but it didn't bother me.  Have you any idea how long it takes to get a decent gladware square full of crushed eggshell??  A Long Time!

any how, this spring went out and sprinkled these all around my plants that got eaten alive last summer - my big girl hostas, and more.  (Wish I could remember all the plant names!).  Well the happy news - it's working!  Every plant I circled is doing very well with no slug bites!

An old friend used to do the beer traps too.  Again - those little slugs are lushes!  They love beer.  Fall in the sunken jar trap and drown - happily I might add.
