Do you clean items? How do you clean? is the time and money worth it?
I dry cleaned three dresses that were extraordinary and washed pressed etc a few others myself. the total time was 3 hours and the cost was $36. they all sold fast but it was a lot of work. how do you add that in to price?
Thanks,
Valerie

I have never used vinegar to spot clean. Do you mix it with water? If so, what part vinegar to water?
Take care, Diane :O)

Blotting all the way was the key I think. It just picked up the dust. I do think the very good wool from the 1950s helped.
I also found if washing wool blankets to add 2 cups of vinegar to the machine. Not sure if I would feel comfortable washing wool in the machine but...

Thanks for the vinegar tip. Good to know.

Permalink Reply by Purple Cow Antiques on January 12, 2012 at 10:39pm I had a new puppy who in her training phase fell in love with one of my wool hooked throw rugs. I soaked her oops spot with white distilled vinegar and blotted dry. It worked wonderfully to completely clean and neutralize the spot and all odor. I can see vinegar being very effective on wool clothing too.

Permalink Reply by Luv2LuvAntiques on January 12, 2012 at 11:41pm I appreciate everyone's help with the use of vinegar with stains and odors. It's funny how our long time everyday household products, are much better than all the new things on the market! Take care, Diane :O)
Permalink Reply by Out Of The Attic 2u on January 13, 2012 at 5:02am I washed an old wool blanket on gentle and even put it in the dryer on delicate and it came out beautiful. This blanket is from the 50's. I bought it for my hub who is always cold to use when he watches the boob tube.
