Be the epitome of romance in this antique, rare, handmade Brussels lace bertha collar. A bertha collar is a wide, flat, round collar, often of lace or sheer fabric, worn with a low neckline in the Victorian era. It was worn nearly falling off the shoulders since the opening in the center is so wide. Modern wearers can set the neckline very close and let the majority of it ruffle down the center front of the chest....really elegant with a suit. The intricacy of the lace is amazing. It is excellent condition considering its age, circa 1860-1870. This is one of my absolute favorite pieces, found in Pazy Nievre Bourgogne, France.
