This stunning cape is a classic Mid-Victorian piece. It is made of black French Chantilly lace. The lace is worked with flowers, foliage and Swiss dots. The collar has a smaller Chantilly lace ruffle and a black silk band attached to it, which is lined with a silk band. The front of the cape has two black satin ribbons attached to it for closure. The cape has a lovely scalloped hemline. It closes with 3 hooks and eyes on the front and is completely hand sewn. It is in lovely condition for its age, with just a bit of fraying around the edges. The cape's measurements are as follows (measured when lying flat): Length: 29" Width at collar: 15.5" all around Width at hem: 62" (circumferenc is 124")
