This is a stunning, heirloom antique Point de Venise handmade lace tablecloth ~ circa late 1800s. Historically, the fine Italian Point de Venise lace always had linen ground between lace panels and wonderful sleek embroidery. The overall designs were kept secret and fiercely guarded. The whole tablecloth or antique bed linens were only put together when all the pieces were made by a number of lace makers. The beautiful final product was assembled and sold shortly after. This grand tablecloth is oblong and measures 89" x 58". It is in wonderful condition. This exquisite will be treasured for years to come as a fine heirloom.
