Sterling Silver Alice Caviness Owl Pin

With green cabochon eyes and a body done in sterling silver filigree we can honestly say that this is one handsome Hooter! It’s also a rather famous one for it was made by Alice Caviness of Germany, a jewelry maker known for her daring designs and quality workmanship. This Horned Owl is no exception with its intricate detail, brilliant stones and precious metal measuring 1.5” in length and 1 1/8” in width at the perch area. It’s in good condition for its age although the pin bar is no longer quite straight (see pic) and the glue around the eyes has discolored (quite common, you’ll see this on most of the Owls). It is marked “Alice Caviness, Sterling, Germany” on the back. A beauteous Birdie to be sure one you’ll enjoy scarfing up!
