My mother had lived in Duncan, Oklahoma for many many years. With tornado country, you never know when a tornado can touch down, particularly if you live in the Tornado Alley. Somewhat oblivious to the sirens, local folks figure the odds of a touchdown and then the odds of an F4 or F5 are low. Unsure as to why this thought process pervades the common man, but it does. For many years, it was always a hit and miss around Duncan. I was so happy when mom chose to sell out and move back to…

Well, if there are just two messages I blog today I might save someone a whole lotta grief:
First message: BE CAREFUL when working on your documents at night when you are tired (or any time)
Second message: double check your recycle bin before deleting.....mass amounts (or anything)
You don't want to figure out your entire inventory list has been deleted.
Just sayin. Now, I can't blog anymore because I have some work to do. You can only imagine what that…

Can you believe it is Mother's Day weekend? How does that happen so fast? With Christmas just sitting somewhere in my brain..the memories still lingering, and now it's Mother's Day weekend?
A June wedding for my daughter could have something to do with it. Adding a son to my list of children is just a celebration all by itself...as I plan and strategize gifts, dresses and hair styles...
BWs Vintage Collectibles is having a 72 hour sale and it starts, well 5 minutes…

Did anyone out there know that Emmons Jewelry was created in 1949 by Charles Stuart? The same guy who created Sarah Coventry? Charles Stuart created Sarah Coventry after his daughter, and later created Emmons Jewelry Co. in honor of his wife, Caroline Emmons Stuart.
Apparently, Emmons Jewelry was also sold in the home party sales division, as was Sarah Coventry. The pieces were priced slightly higher than S. Coventry. The marks started in 1955 and the doors finally closed in 1981.…

Nothing irritates me more than trying to carry all of my items up and down stairs to shoot in my "studio". Using a newer camera, my photos are not focusing well, meaning I have to take a million pictures of one closeup. I literally hate it. Add to this insult, my OLD camera focused perfectly each and every time. My NEW and modern camera??? forget about it......
I found an article this morning in my inbox, Creative Income, and it came from a Crafter's website I subscribe to, I…

Well, I do want to extend my Higher Power wishes to all who read this blog....and a hidden blessing was found today!! Eau Pleine Vintage responded to my HELP request on Researchers to the Rescue this morning...although, I was complaining initially that the Easter Bunny failed to deliver chocolate....I was trying to identify an artist's rendition of some kind of red birds on small plates I found, in MINT condition. She researched my request and gave me this link, so I am forwarding it on…

My daughter's wedding is in June! I guess you could say, it just hit me. Like, what happened? I just opened an invitation to my daughter's wedding? what? I guess mothers get invitations? but it made me realize, "This is real". So, of course, an immediate diet started Monday, but I have already cheated. So much for that. Speaking of "...all a Twitter..."
I have been posting like crazy but one thought I had for everyone, as they are Pinning, don't forget to Twitter. The reason…

I have to admit, I do shop Goodwill, not regularly, but every now and then. Most of the time, I find Mid-Century small collectibles but most of the Vintage is either confiscated by the employees or it is rarely donated as our economic miss-steps linger on....Vintage items sell. While reading Kovel's Komments this morning, I drifted into the 2012 fantastic finds....perhaps you will remember this article or highlighted "find". If you think it is futile to visit a Goodwill store, think…

I had been relisting several items today and three of them were from Sheffield. It occurred to me, I had little knowledge -really- and so I went about researching the company...I found an educational website and read a great summary, I thought I might share it with you...since we run into Sheffield quite a bit...

I have used them for a few months now and I am still learning.
I don't have a blog on anything, but I will answer any questions you have if I can.

PenniLea's Vintage Places said… Hi Brenda,
I wish you the best and send prayers for your new venue to be a success. I was considering RL myself but I will wait for another special. Please let me know how it goes, I had a Ruby Plaza shop and loved how it all worked. I think I will join in on TH as opposed to that other auction venue, just using it as a way to turn inventory and hopefully get my shop's name out there (shop on eCrater). My goal is to move my vintage items to one of the more well-known venues eventually.
Have fun and please let me know if you like it there.
:) Penni

Eau Pleine Vintage said… Nice to hear an update from you! I have been lax here on tvv the last few days as I am getting ready for a big trip--Amtrak Tour to the Grand Canyon! Sales have been decent--for me! Hope your shops are doing well! Christmas usually brings more buyers and more sales. At least the chance for more sales!

Eau Pleine Vintage said… Hi Brenda! My brother used Ancestry.com for quite awhile and then stopped when they wanted to charge him $$$. He found another site and has found that calling, emailing, etc. to the town we had relatives helped. So good luck with your searching! And don't forget to 'comment' and post pictures! :)

Out Of The Attic 2u said… Just to let you know your url to your ebay store is not working.
I think this is the correct one as I took it from ebay.
