I have just found this delightful video from Liberty which shows a pretty and unique way to wear a scarf in your hair. I really like this particular idea as it uses a scarf that is a common vintage size and shape and would suit any hairstyle.
I was introduced to 'Vintage' years ago when I was a little girl, only in those days it was called 'second hand' :-)
My Nana who loved a bargain used to take me to village jumble sales...... I would truffle about under tables trying on odd shoes and best of all, rummage in the big old tins of buttons and jewellery that were always there.
My other Nana used to let me dress up in all her wonderful aprons, worn by me as a dress with all her jewellery draped and pinned on, a pair of heels and a hat perched on top!
I now buy and sell Vintage jewellery and accessories full time in the UK and have stood most of the major fairs over the last few years. I only sell things that are in really good condition and are genuine Antique or Vintage ( pre 1970's) pieces.
Personally, I don't mind if something is faded or a bit well loved, sometimes it just adds to the charm and the mystery of its history and it usually finds a home in my curio cabinet......
