Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

Vintage Lovers: Apply Here

Welcome to my Vintage Village page.  I am a vintage seller on Etsy, which is vastly appropriate, since I live in a houseful of vintage goodies and I'm a vintage goodie myself. (My own opinion, of course.  You may find others who might disagree.  Just ignore them.)

My main love is ceramics, but I'm easily led to almost anything vintage.  I'm a big fan of American pottery companies, specifically the Ohio and W. Virginia potteries like Homer Laughlin, Salem, Hall, Taylor Smith Taylor, W.S. George, and Harker.

I also dearly love English transferware, and have written about it on my blog: http://deerpathvintage.blogspot.com/2009/06/english-transferware.html

The picture I've used in my avatar is ftom my favorite Homer Laughlin pattern, English Garden.  I'm lucky enough to have a few pieces and I treasure them as much as an art lover would treasure a Homer Winslow.  (Below is my beautiful platter.  My avatar is a closeup of the main image.)

My Etsy shop is here:  http://deerpathvintage.etsy.com  Hope to see you soon!

"RL cost me 3% of sales in total last year.  My only cost were my RL fees and my Paypal or other credit card fees."

"I sold for several years on ebay and they were eating me alive with the fees, much higher than what I pay on RL.  Now ETsy isn't free either.  I pay almost as much there as I do on RL and probably more since I do blogs for RL. "

Hi Mona, thanks for the friend invite. :) I think the hanky will make a great pillow too. I have it laying on a white decorative pillow on my bed and it looked so pretty, so I thought to myself...thats what you will become so people can see you. Now lets hope I can do it justice! :) Thanks again, look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Mona,
Thanks for your reply about the hanky. I appreciate the help and info. I think I'm going to make a pillow with this for my antique bed. I so love it and the colors are so darn pretty along with its design. Thanks again! :)

The Snow Bird Brings Winter with Her!

Posted on March 6, 2010 at 9:50am 0 Comments

I just posted on my Deer Path Vintage blog this morning. I've been neglecting it lately, but hope to get back into the swing of things. I'm here in the south, but hardly lounging on the beach. You'll see why!

Everything in my shop is 15% off until April 1 if you say the magic words, "Vintage Village". (Because Vintage Village is where it's…

Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years!

Posted on December 20, 2009 at 3:31pm 0 Comments

Hi all, I've shuttered my shop for the holidays and will be opening up again around January 6 or 7. Will be spending Christmas with our kids and grandkids (Oh, Happy Days!!) and then heading down south for the winter. I'm going to be putting some of my items in "storage" while I'm gone, as I can't transport them all.

I'll be visiting thrift shops and flea markets down there, so I'm hoping I'll find some goodies to help "stock the shelves".

Peace, Joy and Love to… Continue

Silhouettes! I LOVE Silhouettes!

Posted on October 17, 2009 at 8:00pm 2 Comments

After months of neglect, I've finally spiffed up my Blogspot blog, and I've actually added a new post today.

It's about my love for silhouettes. I can't say it's an educational post because I really don't include anything about the history of silhouettes. I'm just showing examples of different… Continue

A Faded English Garden

Posted on June 8, 2009 at 1:30pm 2 Comments

Anybody who knows me knows how much I love transferware--particularly Homer Laughlin's English Garden pattern (which technically is decalware, not transferware). So I was thrilled last week when I won this little creamer on eBay. I was the only bidder and I wondered why, until it arrived today and I saw it up close and personal.

The transfer is badly faded, and I think I know why, but I'll get to that. I went back to the original eBay listing to see if I should have been able to tell… Continue

Couroc of Monterey

Posted on May 29, 2009 at 11:00am 12 Comments

Until I found this Couroc of Monterey set in a Salvation Army store last year I didn't really know anything about the company or the process. They looked vaguely familiar when I spotted them, but when these bar sets were first produced I was into Colonial, and modern didn't really show me much.

I've since learned that Couroc is getting increasingly popular for very good reason. It's beautiful! That's number one--but if you look… Continue
