The Dragonmum Is In The House!!

Due to lots of personal & family chaos, I've permanently closed 2 of my Bonanzle stores and put one on hold.. After things calm down, I'll re-open the vintage store. However, I will be putting most of my inventory on etsy. All my vintage has been too spread out. I'll also add my and Nik's creations and supplies for hand-made things after the vintage part is established. Sounds like a good 5 year plan, huh? I'm looking forward to being able to do this - I'll make a big announcement!! Meanwhile, I have to take down my photos since I don't have active stores right now. I'll still be around now that things have slowed enough for me to have some time for something other than crisis management.

Ready to Re-join the Vintage World!

Hi Guys! and new people I don't know too! I've been away for quite a while. Lots of the chaos in my life is clearing up. Mom died in October, which was certainly a mixed blessing. Our smaller family is re-equilibrating pretty well.

Nik & I have continued our hunting adventures over the last several months, although at a slower rate. I'm organizing to get back to selling; I'm excited to hear VV is now a venue!! We've wandered into new territories, including pocket watches &… Continue

Thanks again for all of you who've been so supportive. Thought I'd let those of you who might be interested what I've been doing lately - or not doing, as the case may be....

I've been hunkered down for awhile, working on life chaos. Overwhelmed. Pretty isolated too. Got to feeling sorry for myself. Blah blah blah.... I'm not sure if life is calming down or if I'm just adapting - but I feel like I can start interacting with some of my little corners of the world - mostly on line,… Continue

Thanks & Hoping for a Great Vintage New Year for All!!

I'd like to give a huge Thank You to all of you who've been so supportive over the last few months. My Mom's in home hospice care & it's still rough at home, but we've settle into a routine. I haven't been around much; I hurt my back (again...duh) and have been dealing with a lot of nerve pain that is also subsiding. Yay!! Even managed to get a week of vacation down to Ft Meyers Beach.

On the vintage front, I have a wonderful collection of vintage hats, ties, jewelry & more… Continue

Please check the "articles" discussion forum for my post on rank optimization tips for Bing. They are somewhat different than Google's. The site the came from, http://www.site-reference.com. Another one of this week's articles is about Google's newest ranking parameter - web site loading speed.

With the economy in the bucket and competition for on-line sales higher than ever, we can use any little tip helps!

Wow, what a wealth of information ! Thank you for the run down. We are going to spend some time on it tomorrow and check it out. We will visit your stores and check out the site in general.

I've found Etsy to be slow but steady. It generates sales off of the site too. I sell vintage in several places so as long as there's a trickle from each we do ok.

Thanks again for your help.

Yes, I'd be glad to look at hats. I love'em. Can you let me know what you think of Bonanzle ? I'm going to look at this week and it would be good to hear someone's first hand experience.
thanks - viv

Leslye:
You have been extremely helpful. I was very leary of the "make an offer" thing. Glad you can just set a price and go with it.

My BFF and I have 3 shops on etsy...jewelry, supplies and vintage. The jewelry will probably be gone within a year...we want to phase it out. Supplies too. So vintage is where it's at.

We will probably open a shop on BN this week. I'll let you know so you can come and comment on it. What is considered vintage on BN? On etsy it's 20 years old or more? If I put my newer collectible stuff on the same site, too, will there be a problem?

I checked out your blog on jewelry. Just started getting interested in it lately. I bought some very inexpensive pieces and put them on our etsy site. None have marks. How do you tell how old they are with no marks?

Well, I really appreciate you help. I have requested you be one of my vintagevillage friends. It's nice to have online friends.

Thanks again,
Joyce
