The Laundry Room

Posted on July 5, 2009 at 3:00pm 0 Comments

My laundry room is in desperate need of a makeover... and I do mean desperate! We live in an old house from the 1920s (which I love dearly), but the basement is a bit dark and dreary. It's not at the top of our priorities right now, since we're starting on another renovation project in a different part of the house. But... that doesn't keep me from looking for ideas for when we do have time to overhaul it......read more on our… Continue

Taking My Etsy Photography Outside - New Items to be Listed

Posted on June 28, 2009 at 2:50pm 0 Comments

I have been struggling with finding a good spot for shooting my Etsy photos. I am not sure if other Etsy sellers take as many pictures as I do. I think part of the problem is that my home has warm colors and is not well lit. This last week the sun was shinning so nicely that I decided to take my photo shoot outside. I was quite impressed with the shots. Read more at… Continue

A Special (Vintage) Touch

Posted on May 24, 2009 at 3:16pm 0 Comments

I love the way a vintage piece adds a special touch. Whether it's in your kitchen, your wardrobe, your bedroom, or your living room. It sets you apart from everyone else who shops at big box stores and whose homes and wardrobes all look alike. Those who love and appreciate vintage pieces are usually unique, colorful people themselves......read more at VintageLove.

Bits of Inspiration

What's inspiring me these days...

I live in a house that was built in the 1920's and have a lot of vintage furniture and accessories that are vintage. It's a constant work in progress and we still have lots of renovating and decorating left to do. I love seeing how other people work vintage items into them homes and decorating.

Hi - me again!
I was just visiting your shop and your mom's and read how you are a mother and daughter team who shares a love for vintage. My mom and I were a team - she started selling jewelry when I was 12 and I joined her in her passion for it when I was about 30. We treasure hunted together almost every weekend, shared excitement over special finds, learned together, sold together. Last year she had several small strokes and is now unable to use her computer at all - we sold it. I still take her treasure hunting some but she has lost a lot of her knowledge and instincts plus doesn't understand money & numbers well. We are no longer able to really share our hobby. I really miss being able to call her and say "Guess what I found?" and feel she really gets it. I have to explain it . . . it's just not the same. I only wish she had made it to enjoy my online store. experience with me We sold on eBay together and did some flea market selling and a few shows here and there.

My mom was in such amazingly good health it really took me by surprise.

I really am not trying to be a downer. The point is - enjoy every minute of your mom (and everyone you love) and don't take it for granted.

Hi Goldiez!

Thanks for the invite : ) I always enjoy seeing your shop. I love your "Cheery Vintage Pillowcases". I had the identical pillowcases back when I was a flower child lol! A real blast from the past!

Smoochies!
