My husbands new website by Gizmos

Hi, I know this isn't really about vintage, although the rocks he makes the arrowheads from are ancient! lol

I have been working on this site for him, first timer here! All the arrowheads shown are handmade by him using a flint knapping process. Let me know what you think please

Thanks for taking a moment.

Bing is Windows 7 default search engine! Scary!

Please check the "articles" discussion forum for my post on rank optimization tips for Bing. They are somewhat different than Google's. The site the came from, http://www.site-reference.com. Another one of this week's articles is about Google's newest ranking parameter - web site loading speed.

With the economy in the bucket and competition for on-line sales higher than ever, we can use any little tip helps!

Renninger's November Extravaganza-Mt. Dora, FL

I've been going to the Extravaganza's for about 20 years now. This was the smallest ever and, probably, the least attended. My husband said he heard dealers crabbing about their sales. But, there were lots of people pulling carts that were full to the brim. Ours was almost full by the time we left seven hours after we got there!

There were more professional dealers there than the guys who bring in the boxes of stuff you have to paw thru to see what's in it. I LOVE those guys but,… Continue

Road Trips well what can I say other then my boyfriend and I are the kind of obsessed with them. In the last year we have driven to the Figure Lakes in New Year State where we drank some great local wine, made our way to Providence, R.I. for a nice weekend get away by the sea, spent the new year in Boston and went to New York in the fall to see the leaves change color in Central Park.

from the Cleveland Plain Dealer

Facing some challenges of late myself a thoughtful friend e-mailed this to me. Somewhere amongst the many quotes from this 90 year old lady I thought many of us might find ourselves and find some encouragement.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

Thanks for all your prayers!

Thanks to all of you who offered your prayers and thoughts for my Mom. Something must be going well because this weekend she was back to her self with an appetite and good color. My Dad has more help in and gotten the hang of the Hoyer lift they have to use to transfer Mom (she can't even stand well & she's a big lady).

I've arranged for my daughter to fly home from law school in New York for the weekend before T'giving just to be be sure she sees Mom before something happens. My… Continue

Follow up to my last TVV post.

Well, the woman who contacted me about my "Vampirella" comics never got back to me, so I went ahead and got them listed this weekend. Feel free to head over to my shop to take a peek!

I have 6 issues from the 1970s in very good shape. A couple have issues, which I have described for my buyers (I may go back and add photos of the issues later,) but for the most part, these comics look great!

I'm happy to sell things like this and the Conan book, because along with… Continue

Fascinating blog, post on Victorian mourning...

Recently I stumbled upon the most fascinating of sites, full of far off places, mummies and Gothic arches. If you were a child like I was, who dreamed of seeing the pyramids of Egypt and of standing before Stonehenge, be sure to take a few moments to visit. This was exactly the sort of thing, except in book form, that helped to foster a lifelong love of history and the past. Never made it to the pyramids but I did get to stand before Stonehenge!

The Eyes Have It

Hello again, lovely readers! Last week we covered blush and contouring, and this week we’ll move to the eyes. I’ll break up this topic into two parts: eye shadow, and liner/brows.

amanda-leeeeee

Popular shades of the day run the gamut from clean and neutral, to soft pastels, including blues, greens, and orchids. The look of the 20s was smoldering, and women used shades ranging from black to turquoise or green. Daytime eyes in the 1930s often entailed a light application of… Continue
