Shopping was never easier than this year!   Holidays can drag on and on and on, starting with the onset of Fall, way back in September!  Just one trip to the big box store on October 30, the day before Halloween, was confusing at best.   Displays had Christmas and Halloween together, and even had clearance sale shopping carts with Halloween things in them, the day BEFORE Halloween!  I don't know when the "shopping" time changed....I thought it waited until at LEAST November 1..?

But…

Speaking of Chipmunks...I saw one today!!   That might not be surprising for most viewers, but in Las Vegas?  in the desert?  Yep, as I was pulling out of the driveway, the cutest little chipmunk scurried across the road...I thought, "It's been at least 10 years since I've seen a chipmunk, I wonder what he's doin here?"  Then it occurred to me, he probably snuck away in someone's vehicle while camping or picnicking and fell out when they stopped.  Poor little guy....he'll soon be up a creek…

That's all.  I Love Lucy.  Have you ever wondered why no matter how many times you watch it, it remains funny?  I Love Lucy.  Maybe it is because of the Vintage outfits, or the jewelry, or the complete pattern of china Lucy uses, every year.  Has anyone noticed?  Her china pattern is all white with grape ivy.  It is on all the dishes, and even the double vase on a shelf by her window....she packed it up and took it to the country house too.  I have never figured it out, but boy would I love…

Today was a very different experience.  I was so bored sitting around feeling sorry for myself, I went poking around the garage sales....on my way to CVS for an anti-inflammatory....a 11 minute ride to the pharmacy took me, uuuhhhmmm, about 3 hours.  You would think I would have had plenty of time to visit scores of sales....but actually, I went to 2~ TWO.  Yep, just TWO.  By the time I left the first one, I had been there 1 1/2 hrs.  If you ever go to a garage sale, on a Friday~~folks are…

Yep, the dog days of summer are finally here in Henderson, NV.  It rained for 12 hours the other day.....a first for our valley (Las Vegas).  We had water everywhere.  The next day out, there was dirt and rock all over the roads.  It was nice to see, nice to stand in, a pure joy to us here in the desert.  The countdown to Labor Day weekend is here already, can you believe it?  And with that thought, my Labor Day Weekend discount sale on all dinnerware starting this evening and runs through…

When I was a boy, my Dad would take me to work with him on Saturdays. He worked for a construction company, and many Saturdays were spent at the "shop", the offices, repair shops, and storage area for the construction company.

Hello...ya know,  this is what I remember about May:

1)   I moved across town.

2)  It was Mother's Day one day, but I can't remember cause I didn't celebrate it.. Oh yeah, I took myself out to breakfast.

2)  I met my mother in Denver, and we flew to Hays, Kansas in a 16 person propeller airplane...went to her 65th high school reunion in Agra, Kansas.  Ate chicken.  Saw lots of old people and I felt really young.

3)  Swore off flying in propeller airplanes…

Did this week go by fast or what?  The moving boxes are crowding my living room, I never realized how BIG small collectibles can get once they are wrapped with bubble wrap!  Oneida Majesticware, Rosenthal Krister, Vintage Fenton, Corelle Callaway or Quilted Hearts dinner plates, Cherished Teddies.....all of it needs to be wrapped.  How fast a 20" x 20" x 16" can fill up!  ....I have  been to the store seems like  a million trips today.
