"Hello, my name is Vintage Shari and I'm a Jewelryholic."

I was recently forced to deal with the daunting task of trying to reorganize approximately 600 pieces of jewelry stock. Our Ruby Lane sister shop closed and just like in real life, while I sometimes found her demanding, I didn’t know how much I loved her until she was gone. I was going through drawer after drawer, sitting on the floor. Oh, good god, there’s more…

The auctioneer's wife who wanted the christmas dishes

I usually do not post that many blogs to Ruby Lane, but, the other day, I happened upon a dear little creamer with holly and it reminded me of this auction.

Hope you enjoy the story and much as I enjoyed telling it,

best wishes, Linda

My toe still hurts, but it feels better when...............

Well, the doctor says I fractured my toe or jammed it so well it could be broke.  Same fix:  sit around.  So, I guess I can do that.....and one thing I know for sure, I do need to reassess my type A behavior when attempting to walk down stairs while clicking the phone over to a new line...one conversation is enough, but two at the same time?  what was I thinking anyway?  BUT what I wanted to blog about was~while I am sitting around healing my toe~I have been utilizing TVV more and more! I have a New Blog Addy. Due to circumstances my Blog of 3+ yrs has been disabled...gotta love Google, right? I was devastated as this past year I spent more time with it, did more with it, added pages over time, decorated, researched more about effective blogging, etc etc. What a rude awakening on Monday to sign in, and…

Shifting Gears

A long time ago, back in the mid 1970s I got interested in the auction scene around our area.  Not really sure why because I wasn't collecting anything particular.  But summer auctions in western NY in the 70s were an entertainment venue for sure!  Hot dogs, coffee, sometimes soup or chili (especially good in fall) filled the day along with farmhouse treasure after treasure.  I was learning something new every minute.  I know my husband had a megga heart palpitation when I came home with a van… Continue

Big Change in the Air

Back in the late 1990s I started a keystone website and felt ... so up to date!    How cool it was back then to tell people the store had "it's own website".  Wow how quickly times change!

Later this week I'm pulling that original website from the server and putting her to bed.

I am…

It's about my love for silhouettes. I can't say it's an educational post because I really don't include anything about the history of silhouettes. I'm just showing examples of different… Continue
