So, you think you wanna sell online?

We travel frequently, and are always meeting new friends. Many of them have approached me about selling online– it seems so effortless and so easy ... just have a widget, take a picture of it, put it on an online selling site ... then sit back and wait for someone to buy it.
"It’s simple, right? Tell me what you think! Should I sell online?"…

We had a busy weekend !!! The upcoming summer and vacation plans made us realize we needed to have more furniture inventory for our booth at The Grapevine. We won't always be in town for auctions ... so we did two local auctions -- one on Friday night and one early Saturday morning. I'm still sorting our treasures !!!

The Vintage Crows Nest Thanks Captain Jack Sparrow For Keeping Pirate Tales Alive!

"I was a bit of a tomboy when I was a lass...dreaming of the Jolly Roger, and pirates plundering the Caribbean! I used to sneak out of bed late at night, way past my bed time, to watch the late show on T.V., especially to see Errol Flynn, or Tyrone Power, in their swashbuckling Hollywood roles! Movies like "Captain Blood", "The Sea Hawk", and "The Black Swan", were my favorites! It wasn't easy to tip toe past my parents room, as my mother was…

Welcome to Kathy's Vintage Jewelry

Hi All!  Welcome to my blog on Vintage Village.  I am excited to be here and to have a venue to share my passion and love of vintage and antique jewelry.

I am an addict when it comes to garage sales, estate sales and especially auctions!!!  I love the hunt.  I have been very fortunate to find some very good sales.  In the past I have sold on Ebay, selling everything from old toys, vintage quilts and all types of collectible glassware and more.  During my hunts, I discovered…

The times, they are a'changing

My selling life on-line is changing, yet again.

I started selling on eBay, as a serious endeavor, a few years ago. It provided me with a way to contribute to our income, and keep me off the streets and out of trouble. That was back in the days when things sold for reasonable prices, and it was a community of people. My focus became vintage costume jewelry and ephemera, and it remains so today.

Then things started to change, and the more it changed, the less I liked it.…

A Quick Note.

As you may have seen on my blog , I have put myself on a rotating schedule this year:  Each week, I focus on a different arm of my business.  One week is for handmade, one for vintage, one for writing, etc.  This week is a vintage week for me, so here I am.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to renew my Premium membership yet.  I intend to just as soon as I can come up with the money.  While it is not a high price…

An almost Royal Wedding, a vintage ring and the end of my Etsy shop

My daughter always worried that she was too picky.  That her expectations were too high and that she might never settle down and get married.  At 26, most of her friends had already married off and she felt like a duck in a pond of swans.  She's a lovely girl, with lotsa smarts, drive and fire in her belly.  I used to say that when she was born it was like she was shot out of a cannon, smokin' a cigar and barkin' orders.  Can any of you relate?

Years ago, she did a semester…
