Where Vintage Never Gets Old...

I've been a member of Bonanzle since August of 2008. It was a great site when I first joined but lately I have been disappointed in the direction it's taking.

There are more and more forum games being developed and for me that is just NOT the direction I want a selling site I'm a member of, to go.

I was also greatly disappointed to learn that the million dollar investment that the site recently got awarded was not going to be used for advertising. That was, in my opinion, a huge mistake by the management of the site.

Internet sites need targeted advertising to get their name "out there". How do you think Ebay got themselves to be a household name?

It wasn't JUST by their sellers going out and beating the "cyber sidewalks". No, it was through advertising and getting their name recognized world wide.

I'm sticking with Bonanzle for now, but am going to explore other options. I didn't have much luck at Ecrater, and a couple of other sites. Most of my merchandise I can't sell at Etsy as it's not hand made or craft supplies but I am starting to make some items that are hand made for babies and Toddlers and am most likely NOT going to list them on Bonanzle. They will go to Etsy as they will be hand made and Etsy seems to be a better place to sell that kind of stuff.

It's to bad as I've put a LOT of effort into Bonanzle and trying to get my store "out there". Actually I have done a pretty good job doing that, but the buyers are just not there. And to many stupid games in the forums for anyone that is a serious seller.

I to was very disappointed and I'm also getting quite upset about the international shipping problems that the site is continuing to have. As of right now, I can't add international shipping to any of my ads except to post it in the ad itself. The batch edit feature for that in my store anyway is no longer functioning and allowing me to do it. I've written into support many times about this problem, and so have many others but nothing gets done about it. After all this time on the site and all the advertising I've done for my store and the site in general, I must say this is looking like a sad ending to it all.
There are more and more of the "old" sellers that are no longer around due to problems there or in the forums. And that's just to bad

Hi Rayven. I was also disappointed that Bonanzle did not plan on using their investment dollars on advertising. I understand that they need to fix some of the bugs and mechanics of the site but sometimes if you wait for all your ducks to be in a row before doing anything big...that day may never come.

I'm still selling there but focusing my energy in helping sellers of all venues gain exposure and knowledge in their e-commerce adventure.

I hope you're doing well!
