Today as I have a fan page on Facebook I was just surfing around.
I ran across this link. http://mm.bglances.com/
It is to the Marble Museum. It is part of the West Virginia Museum of Glass. One place that is on my bucket list for sure.
Immediately I was back in time with my knees in the dirt and watching my brothers and all the neighborhood kids playing this game. I could practically hear the sounds of all the children.
All of my brothers and I have quite a few played but one of my brothers played marbles or should I say was the King of the marble playing in our part of the world.
He had a pile of them under his bed of the ones he had won.
I recently ran across some of these old vintage marbles and bought them just to remember.
As a collector and dealer of many vintage things I get such great satisfaction of objects that are like little time machines.
Taking us away to a simpler time and making us smile.
I still want to get some yellow jackets though.
