Vintage Print of Society by George Wotherspoon

  • This is a vintage satirical optical illusion print by the American artist George A. Wotherspoon. He was famous for his optical illusion art prints during the late 1800's and early 1900's. This one is referred to as Society. At the lower left is "Copyright 1906 by W.H. Gallagher NY." At the lower right is "Geo. A. Wotherspoon '06."

The print is under an indented matting. Looking at the print you could see either a well dressed gentleman or a donkey (also referred to as a jackass) between two ladies. Their large hats form the donkey's ears.

It is in a black carved frame with older glass, a dust cover with label remnants and the signature Carolyn at the lower right, and a wire for hanging.

Size: The frame measures approximately 15" tall and 12" wide.
