Marygold Moonlight Serenade in Ornate Frame

  • This is another vintage Marygold print. This one shows a romantic scene of a man serenading a woman in the moonlight. It is signed in the plate at the lower left by the artist. Marygold was a pseudonym used by the English artist Marion Crowe (1896-1979) who also went by the name Tsanya. She was well known and popular during the Art Deco period of the 1920's. Although the title is not shown, I have seen this before titled either Moon of Delight or Serenade in Moonlight.

It is in a green and gold wood frame with raised designs at each corner and on the outer rim. It has glass, a cardboard backing with dust cover remnants, and a string for hanging.

Size: The frame measures approximately 15 1/4" tall and 10 1/4" wide. The opening in the back measures approximately 14" by 9".
